Description: The Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) 2010 was conducted at Temasek Polytechnic (TP) from Monday 11 January to Friday 15 January 2010. The objective of the JAE was to allow students who sat for their O-level exams to apply for admission to courses in the polytechnics of their choice. TP organised the course preview talks for applicants and parents who wanted more information about the courses offered by TP, or they could seek out course advisors on campus to find out more about the various courses and their eligibility before making their final decision about the polytechnic of their choice. At the JAE 2010, TP introduced a new course in Early Childhood Studies to meet the needs of students who were interested in careers as early childhood professionals, as well as to meet the increased industry demand for pre-school teachers. This new programme brought the total number of courses offered by TP to 51.

Description: The Temasek Polytechnic graduation ceremony spanned over 14 sessions from 26 to 30 May 2014. Guest of honour, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Communications and Information, officiated at the opening session held on Monday, 26 May 2014 at 9.00am at the Temasek Convention Centre. A total of 5375 students graduated from 55 full-time diploma courses and 9 part-time courses. Day 2: Session 4. TPRAWKS 2013, day 2

Description: A 3-day non residential camp for secondary school students, especially for those taking their O-level exams in 2013. It was held on 18 to 20 November 2013. The objective was to allow these students to experience TP's way of life. Students were divided into 6 different groups (poprawk, glamrawk, grungerawk, fusionrawk, britrawk, punkrawk) and were taken on a tour of the 6 different schools in TP. Lecturers were on hand to explain the types of diploma courses available, and under their expert guidance, students had a sneak peek into the courses that were of interest to them. One of the camp highlights was being entertained by celebrities, comprising Singapore's favourite contractor, Phua Chu Kang aka Gurmit Singh, and the cast of MediaCorp's Mata Mata (George Young, Paul Foster, Adam Chen and Nadiah M Din) and taking part in an impromptu chapteh session. For the first time, the mass selfie took place when TPTV hosts Jay and Guru prompted the entire audience together with the celebrities to whip out their phones and take pictures of themselves as a way to show the bond and friendship made during the 3-day camp. Other activities held over the 3 days included sing along sessions, mass dancing, quizzes and games, and water sports at the Bedok Reservoir. The grand finale was the "Jam and Hop" hosted by DJ Kzee and with live performance by the Goodfellas. Present at the grand finale was Mr Brendan Wong, TP's Director of Corporate Communications Dept.

Campus Care Network Day 2014

Description: Twice a year, Temasek Polytechnic holds its Campus Care Network (CCN) Day, a long-held tradition where staff and students put up a campus-wide bazaar and online sale to raise funds for students in need of financial assistance. The first CCN Day for 2014 was held on Friday 16 May. There were many stalls selling an assortment of items ranging from food, pastries, drinks, costume jewellery, jade accessories, etc. For the first time in the history of CCN Day, Temasek Polytechnic Staff Association offered fun rides on the Segway machine. Also on hand to raise funds was an artist who sketched portraits of staff and students, and children from PLAY@TP Kindergarten who did their part raising funds for needy students too.

Campus Care Network Day 2013

Description: The second Campus Care Network (CCN) Day for 2013 was held on Friday 15 November 2013 from 12 noon to 5.00 pm. A biannual event, the main objective of CCN Day was to help needy students in TP and provide a meaningful bonding time for Care Groups and Care Persons. Students from School of Applied Sciences, School of Design and School of Engineering and some Admin depts participated in the CCN fundraising for needy students. For the 1st time, students from the Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) also participated. More than 120 stalls were set up at the plaza and along all the Schools' concourse areas selling everything and anything sweet and delicious like popcorn, cookies, cupcakes, candy floss, brownies, and smoothies, potted plants and trinkets. On sale also were framed landscape photography prints taken by TP resident photographer Juffry Joihani on his recent trip to New Zealand. Staff from School of Design set up Jadeite, a stall selling an assortment of jade and semi-precious stones. Mr Boo Kheng Hua, Principal & CEO accompanied by Mr Teo Sze Cheng, Chair of the CCN Committee toured the CCN stalls and interacted with the participants of CCN Day carnival.

WOW shopping experience : inaugural National Retailing Competition 2013

Description: The inaugural National Retailing Competition 2013 which served as both a competition and exhibition, was organised by the Temasek Polytechnic School of Business Diploma in Retail Management. Having started in June 2013 and culminating with an exhibition in September, the competition saw individuals from secondary schools and ITEs pit their retail ideas against each other. Finalists were eventually shortlisted and invited to put up exhibits at the WOW shopping experience. The competition had a two fold objective, which was aimed at raising awareness about the retail industry whilst tapping into and attracting bright young minds to the retail industry. The competition also aimed to be enriching for its participants. Participants were required to attend an informative mini workshop which had industry professionals giving various talks. Through these workshops, students learnt the other facets of the retail industry such as branding and the importance of local and overseas fashion trends. Participants also toured 1st Avenue, TP's on-campus retail training store run by Year 2 students from the Diploma in Retail Management.

Description: The Beyond O Level seminar was held at the Temasek Polytechnic Auditorium 1 on 15 February 2003. It was organised by Temasek Polytechnic and supported by The New Paper. O Level holders and their parents attended the seminar to hear different views of life on campus and to find out what the various educational institutions had to offer. The panel of speakers for the seminar were: Dr Ricky Tam, Director of Technical Studies at the Institute of Technical Education East (MacPherson); Ms Sharon Soh, Registrar and Director of Student Services at Temasek Polytechnic; Mrs Lim Lai Cheng, Principal of Temasek Junior College and Mr Neeraj Sundarajoo, a student at Temasek Polytechnic as well as the managing director of an information technology company. Description: For the first time, some 1,500 students from 82 secondary schools were given the opportunity to experience life as a student in Temasek Polytechnic (TP), first hand. TPRAWKS is a new initiative by Temasek Polytechnic and was held from Nov 29 to Dec 1 2006. The five schools in TP - Applied Science, Information Technology, Business, Design and Engineering planned three days of fun and informative activities for the participants. These students were taken on tours of each school and learnt more about the courses from the lecturers who were on hand to explain the types of diploma courses available, and under their expert guidance, students had a sneak peek into the courses that were of interest to them. Besides the cultural performance by TP Salvo drum group, TPRAWKS 2006 also served up a delightful treat in the form of an exclusive performance by Singapore Idol and TP alumnus Hady Mirza at the Temasek Convention Centre.
