Graduation ceremony 2007, day 1 session 1

Summary: TP Graduation Ceremony 2007 was held at the Temasek Convention Centre from 21 to 23 May 2007. The ceremonies spanned over 9 sessions and saw students donning on graduation gowns for the first time since 1991 when it was first introduced for the pioneer batch of graduands. Day 1: Session 1. The first session of the Graduation Ceremony featured graduands from Temasek Business School - Diploma in Business, Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Business, Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management, Diploma in Hospitality Management and Diploma Tourism Management. Temasek Polytechnic Open House 2017, day 2

Summary: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) Open House 2017 was held on 5 to 7 January 2017. The annual open house was held to enable secondary school students to make an informed choice regarding their educational path after they have completed their studies. The secondary school students were given the opportunity to meet up with the lecturers from the respective schools, have a chat with them on the diploma courses offered and the different options available, tour the campus and met up with TP students to find out more about the facilities and life in the campus. Some of the activities provided during the 3-day open house included 3D Virtual Reality tours, a fashion show, closed-up with a real-life Hawker Siddeley 700A private jet, analysed forensic evidence, and more.

Campus Care Network Day, Nov 2017

Summary: The Campus Care Network (CCN) Day Carnival is a signature event of the Temasek Polytechnic. Held twice a year on campus, the carnival brings the entire polytechnic together as staff and students set up stalls to raise funds for students in need of financial assistance. The 2nd CCN Day was held on 17 November 2017 and for the first time it jumped on the cashless bandwagon to raise funds for the needy students. Staff and students were encouraged to use DBS PayLah! for the purchase at various stall as the bank will donate $1 for the cause for every download of the DBS Paylah! app.

Polytechnic Foundation Programme seminar : new through-train pathway for Normal (Academic) students

Summary: On 18 July 2012, a nationwide Join-Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) was organised by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and all five polytechnics. Secondary schools were invited to send their top Secondary 4 Normal (Academic) students to attend the seminar. An estimated 1,800 students and their parents as well as teachers attended the Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) seminar to find out more about PFP. Mr William Lim, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education (MOE) Higher Education Division, enlightened guests on the PFP. PFP offers a practice-oriented curriculum to prepare Normal (Academic) students for entry into relevant polytechnic diploma courses. This programme is an alternative pathway to Secondary Five and offers students the opportunity to pursue diplomas with more than 80% of Polytechnic Diploma courses in all five polytechnics in Singapore. Ms Katherine Rajah, Temasek Polytechnic's Assistant Director, School of Engineering Academic Development spoke on TP's PFP one-year programme which offered a practice-oriented curriculum that was specially designed to lay a strong foundation in Language and Mathematics and gave polytechnic-bound Normal (Academic) students a foretaste of their chosen diploma courses. The seminar's Q&A session provided a platform for the audience to surface questions regarding PFP to a panel comprising of representatives from MOE and the five polytechnics. PFP student ambassadors were also on hand to provide information on the programme and the different courses that TP offered. This first Joint-PFP seminar was held at the Republic Polytechnic Agora Halls.

Campus Care Network Day, Nov. 2011

Summary: Twice a year, Temasek Polytechnic holds its Campus Care Network (CCN) Day, a long-held tradition where staff and students put up a campus-wide bazaar and online sale to raise funds for students in need of financial assistance.The second CCN Day for 2011 was held on 18 November. Stalls were set up at the plaza and along the Schools' concourse areas selling an assortment of items ranging from food, drinks, ice-creams, jade accessories and more. Pet grooming sessions were also conducted at the Veterinary Technology's Animal Clinic to aid in the fund raising.

Temasek Regatta 2012

Summary: The grand finale of the Temasek Polytechnic freshmen orientation 2012 was the regatta held at the Bedok Reservoir. Comprising seven official races, which included the freshmen, juniors/seniors, alumni and staff categories, the regatta is a must-attend for everyone who is part of the TP family. Senior management staff, including Principal & CEO Mr Boo Kheng Hua, were present to cheer on all teams participating in the dragon boat races. The overall championship went to the School of Business, the School of Applied Science won the best cheer team award, and the School of Design won the best-spirited school award.

Temasek Polytechnic Open House 2012, day 3

Some of the activities provided during the 3-day open house included a fashion show, performances by TP students (a roller skating routine, yo-yo performances, concert with live band and TP's own DivoDiva with a medley of songs, students doing TP's signature "Chicky dance", and percussion music), music by popular local band the Goodfellas and live broadcast from the Plaza with DJ Charmaine Yee from Radio 91.3FM.

Young leaders series, March 2013

Summary: Temasek Polytechnic hosted the Young leaders series on 19 March 2013 for some 120 students from 18 secondary schools. Organised by the Corporate Communications Department, this series of events invited outstanding students with good academic and CCA records to come to TP for a day and get a taste of some of the opportunities they would be able to enjoy as TP Scholars and student leaders. This outreach programme, which imparted essential life skills while showcasing the benefits of a TP education was conducted by the Centre for Character & Leadership Education and the Entrepreneurship Centre. Besides students learning about building self-confidence, they were assigned an entrepreneurship project entitled "KoolWerkz challenge" to sell KoolWerkz frozen desserts. These enterprising students were able to pick up key entrepreneurial and marketing skills to successfully persuade staff and students to buy the frozen desserts and raised $555 for TP's Campus Care Network funds.

TPRAWKS 2014, day 3

Summary: A 3-day non residential camp for secondary school students, especially for those taking their O- level exams in 2014. It was held on 17 to 19 November 2014. The objective was to allow these students to experience TP's way of life. Lecturers from the different academic schools were present to explain the types of diploma courses available, and under their expert guidance, students had a taste of hands-on poly education. Some of the activities held during the 3-day camp included sing along sessions, quizzes and games, sports especially water sports like canoeing in Bedok Reservoir, an opportunity to be a performer in the Black Box Theatre, and the grand finale, "Jam and hop".

Pharmaceutical Science : a new course launched in 2008

Joint admissions exercise 1998

Summary: The Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) 1998 was conducted at the Temasek Polytechnic Auditorium Foyer from 3 to 7 March 1998. The objective of the JAE was to allow students who sat for their O-level exams to apply for admission to courses in the polytechnics of their choice. Temasek Polytechnic registered a total of 3,629 first-choice applicants compared with 3271 in 1997, a 10.9% increase.

Summary: The Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) 1997 was conducted at the Temasek Polytechnic Sports Hall from 1 to 5 March 1997. The objective of the JAE was to allow students who sat for their O-level exams to apply for admission to courses in the polytechnics of their choice. Course advisors were available on campus to advise students about the various courses and their eligibility before making their final decision.
