Description: Ten top polytechnic level award recipients and one Ngee Ann Kongsi Overcomer award winner were presented to the media at the "Presentation of top graduates" event on Tuesday, 26 April 2016. The recipients of the awards were: Lee Kuan Yew Award - Joy Sim Fenghua, Goi Jia Jian, Anabel Ng Shu Ming; Tay Eng Soon Gold Medal - Loo Jian Han; Lee Kong Chian Award - Van Gia Tuan, Li Jiaoxuan, Bryan Tam Wei Hoe; CapitaLand Award for All-Round Excellence - Lew Jia Yun; Lee Kong Chian Award for All-Round Excellence - Andria Tan Yi Ying, Tan Yue Ting. The Ngee Ann Kongsi Most Outstanding Overcomer award was given to Chia Hong Sen who was born blind and was the 1st graduate with total visual impairment.

Description: The Ministry of Health in Lao PDR, Temasek Polytechnic and Temasek Foundation teamed up to initiate a three-year capacity building training programme on public healthcare and nutrition intervention. Trainers from Temasek Polytechnic shared their knowledge in nutrition intervention with 100 public health and nutrition officials from schools, hospitals and health centres across Lao PDR. The opening ceremony of the Public Healthcare and Nutrition Intervention Programme was held on 14 Dec 2015 in Vientiane, Lao PDR, officiated by H.E Prof Eksavang Vongvichit, Minister of Health, Lao PDR. Also present were Mr Dominic Goh, Singapore Ambassador to Lao PDR, Mr Benedict Cheong, Chief Executive Officer, Temasek Foundation, and Dr Lee Chee Wee, Director, School of Applied Science, Temasek Polytechnic. Training was conducted both in Singapore and Lao PDR. It commenced in Vientiane from 14 to 18 December 2015, followed by two-week training in Singapore in March 2016.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) launched the Centre for Aquaculture and Veterinary Science (CAVS), the first of its kind in Singapore on Monday, 27 June 2016 at Auditorium 3. Guest-of-honour was Dr Koh Poh Koon, Minister of State for Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Trade and Industry. The inauguration of CAVS also included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between TP and its industry partner APOLLO Aquaculture Group Pte Ltd. The partnership would see joint activities and commitments in areas such as research and development efforts for intensive cultivation of fish and crustaceans, as well as training programmes for TP students in aquaculture engineering, production and support. Dr Lee Chee Wee, Director, TP's School of Applied Science gave the opening address.

Description: On 3 October 2016, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the five local polytechnics namely, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechninc, Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic and Republic Polytechnic signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to review and enhance the polytechnics' curricula in the next three years to prepare and equip graduates with the skills sets necessary to take on the new FinTech-related jobs emerging in the financial sector. Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) celebrated its seventh annual Global Community Day (GCD) on Friday, 7 July 2017 at TP's Glocal Connect Village. GCD is a celebration of diversity with cross-cultural performances and showcases from countries around the world. The 7th GCD was a multi-sensory extravaganza of food and cultural workshops, as well as vibrant showcases and performances, in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Artists from the Mouth & Foot Painting Artists (MFPA) such as Christina Lau and Tan Kok Leong participated in the celebrations where they shared their inspiring life stories. Also on display at The Art Gallery @ TP's Glocal Connect Village was "We draw ASEAN together", an exhibition of sketches featuring life in Southeast Asian cities, by artists and hobbyists from Urban Sketchers Singapore (USk), which was founded in 2009 by TP's Artist-in-Residence, Madam Tia Boon Sim. Dr Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Communications and Information was the guest-of-honour. The event was organised by TP's Centre for TransCultural Studies.

Description: In celebration of Temasek Polytechnic's silver jubilee, staff, students, alumni and their families came together over 25 hours to run or walk a collective distance of 10,000 km to "unlock" $25,000 from the SG50 Giving Initiative for Club Rainbow (Singapore) and the All Saints Home. Highlights of the event included a neon run, where participants were splashed with neon paint as they ran. The flag off event of the TP 25-hour Challenge was held on Thursday, 7 May 2015 at the Temasek Polytechnic Triangular Gardens. TP alumni and Project Superstar winner Alfred Sim also participated in the run. Residents of the All Saints Home joined TP's senior management team in the final lap of the 25-hour challenge on Friday 8 May at 5.00 pm. More than 5,000 participants showed their support for this meaningful event organised in celebration of TP's silver jubilee.

The course, a collaboration between the National Environment Agency (NEA) and TP, was intended to equip chiller technicians in the refrigeration and air-conditioning (RAC) industry with essential knowledge and skills to handle refrigerants correctly during the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning works on water-cooled chillers.

Among these projects were "First-of-its-kind Algae-based oral vaccine for fish" and "Innovative kit for on-site detection of food contaminants". The inaugural Institution of Aquaculture Singapore (IAS) Conference was held at TP following the Applied Science Show. Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) in collaboration with industry partner Gnowbe, launched more than 60 mobile Micro-Learning Courses (MLCs) aimed at meeting the skills-upgrading demands of busy, working professionals. The launch was officiated by guest-of-honour, Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Trade and Industry. To prepare for this launch, TP has developed bite-sized MLCs in subject areas such as Business, Engineering, IT, Applied Sciences and Life Skills, and each MLC comprises 10 to 20 lessons and every lesson could be completed within 15 minutes. Moreover, TP would offer every Singaporean and Permanent Resident one free MLC from a basket of 34 courses, to encourage their pursuit of lifelong learning anytime, anywhere starting from 5 April to 4 June 2018. Mr Peter Lam, Principal & CEO, Temasek Polytechnic and Ms So-Young Kang, Gnowbe Founder and CEO shared their thoughts on the MLCs and the future of learning.
