Alice-in-Action Challenge 2010

Description: The National Infocomm Competition (NIC) is a series of infocomm-themed competitions to expose students to areas such as robotics, artificial intelligence, data science and mobile application development. A total of 3,000 students from secondary schools, junior colleges, ITE and polytechnics took part in 15 challenges within the NIC in 2010. One of the themed challenges was titled "Alice-in-Action" and was organised by Temasek Polytechnic School of Informatics & IT on 4 November 2010 for secondary schools. For the 2010 challenge, Bedok View Secondary School, Hwa Chong Institution, Nan Hua High, Bowen Secondary, Raffles Institution were among some of the participating schools. On hand to present the awards to prize winners was Mrs Lee-Lim Sok Keow, Director, School of Informatics & IT.

Applied Food Science & Nutrition students collaboration project with Quaker Oats

Description: Temasek Polytechnics Applied Food Science & Nutrition students worked together with Quaker to develop 20 innovative Asian recipes which included oats. The aim was to make the highly nutritious oats more palatable to the younger market. The recipes were distributed with Quaker’s products which were available locally from September 2008.

Description: Twice a year, Temasek Polytechnic holds its Campus Care Network (CCN) Day, a long-held tradition where staff and students put up a campus-wide bazaar and online sale to raise funds for students in need of financial assistance. The first CCN Day for 2014 was held on Friday 16 May. There were many stalls selling an assortment of items ranging from food, pastries, drinks, costume jewellery, jade accessories, etc. For the first time in the history of CCN Day, Temasek Polytechnic Staff Association offered fun rides on the Segway machine. Also on hand to raise funds was an artist who sketched portraits of staff and students, and children from PLAY@TP Kindergarten who did their part raising funds for needy students too.

Campus Care Network Day 2013

Description: The second Campus Care Network (CCN) Day for 2013 was held on Friday 15 November 2013 from 12 noon to 5.00 pm. A biannual event, the main objective of CCN Day was to help needy students in TP and provide a meaningful bonding time for Care Groups and Care Persons. Students from School of Applied Sciences, School of Design and School of Engineering and some Admin depts participated in the CCN fundraising for needy students. For the 1st time, students from the Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) also participated. More than 120 stalls were set up at the plaza and along all the Schools' concourse areas selling everything and anything sweet and delicious like popcorn, cookies, cupcakes, candy floss, brownies, and smoothies, potted plants and trinkets. On sale also were framed landscape photography prints taken by TP resident photographer Juffry Joihani on his recent trip to New Zealand. Staff from School of Design set up Jadeite, a stall selling an assortment of jade and semi-precious stones. Mr Boo Kheng Hua, Principal & CEO accompanied by Mr Teo Sze Cheng, Chair of the CCN Committee toured the CCN stalls and interacted with the participants of CCN Day carnival.

Campus Care Network Day 2015

Description: The Campus Care Network (CCN) Day Carnival is a signature event of the Temasek Polytechnic. Held twice a year on campus, the carnival brings the entire polytechnic together as staff and students set up stalls to raise funds for students in need of financial assistance.The first CCN Day of the year was held on 29 April 2015 during the TP 25th Anniversary Opening Event celebration. The 2nd CCN Day was held on 13 November 2015. Fund raising activities this year include the sale of snow cones and homemade ice pops; pet themed tote bag; handmade Christmas soap; and a chance to de-stress and take photographs with the animals at the Temasek Polytechnic Animal Facility.

Description: The first Campus Care Network (CCN) Day for 2012 was held on May 18 from 12 noon to 5 pm. A biannual event, the main objective of CCN Day is to help needy students in TP and provide a meaningful bonding time for Care Groups and Care Persons. Students and staff from the School of Business, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, School of Informatics & IT, and some Administrative depts participated in the fundraising for needy students. More than 140 stalls were set up at the Plaza and along the Schools' concourse selling everything and anything gloriously sweet and delicious like popcorn, cookies, cupcakes, candy floss, brownies, and smoothies, and trinkets. TP's CCA group, Divo Diva sang their hearts out for a good cause, while others capitalised on the tattoo trend among the students and still others paid for a macho image on the Ducati 800 Monster. The event was attended by Mr Boo Kheng Hua, Principal & CEO who was accompanied by Mr Teo Sze Cheng, Chair of the CCN Committee and senior management staff.
