Campus Care Network Day 2015

Summary: The Campus Care Network (CCN) Day Carnival is a signature event of the Temasek Polytechnic. Held twice a year on campus, the carnival brings the entire polytechnic together as staff and students set up stalls to raise funds for students in need of financial assistance.The first CCN Day of the year was held on 29 April 2015 during the TP 25th Anniversary Opening Event celebration. The 2nd CCN Day was held on 13 November 2015. Fund raising activities this year include the sale of snow cones and homemade ice pops; pet themed tote bag; handmade Christmas soap; and a chance to de-stress and take photographs with the animals at the Temasek Polytechnic Animal Facility.

The first CCN Day of the year was held on 19 May 2017. In conjuction with CCN day, TP Archives organised the first CCN curated exhibition at the Library. The opening event was graced by past and current CCN Chairs and advisors. In addition, the exhibition showcased exhibits comprising of photos, videos and handcrafted items sold in the past CCN carnivals.

Held twice a year on campus, the carnival brings the entire polytechnic together as staff and students set up stalls to raise funds for students in need of financial assistance. The 2nd CCN Day was held on 17 November 2017 and for the first time it jumped on the cashless bandwagon to raise funds for the needy students. Staff and students were encouraged to use DBS PayLah! for the purchase at various stall as the bank will donate $1 for the cause for every download of the DBS Paylah! app.

Freshmen Orientation Camp 2015

Summary: The annual Freshmen Orientation Camp (FOC) was organised by the Temasek Polytechnic Students' Union (TPSU) for full-time students. Freshmen may attend either a 3-day non-residential camp or a 3-day, 2-night residential camp. The activities planned during the orientation will allow students to familiarise themselves with the school environment and provide ample opportunities to make new friends, network among peers, and experience the vibrant TP campus life. The orientation camp was held over two weeks. Dates and duration varied across the Schools.

Parental guidance seminar 2017

Summary: The annual parental guidance seminar was held on Saturday, 17 June 2017. TP hosted the seminar for 1,000 parents and students at the Temasek Convention Centre. They got to find out more about a polytechnic education, TP courses, scholarships, and further education and career opportunities. During the seminar, attendees had a chance to engage with TP's Principal and CEO, Mr Peter Lam, Senior Director and Registar, Mr Daniel Yeow, Director of Academic Affairs, Mr Sng Choon Leng, and Victoria Skull, a third-year student from the Diploma in Digital Film & Television. They were able to get a clearer understanding of the Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) and how Temasek Polytechnic helps build lifelong learners in its students. The seminar also consisted of a school tour where participants got to know more about the courses offered in each school. They also visited facilities such as the labs used by students from the Diploma in Applied Food Science and Nutrition and the MediaBiz Studio used by Communications and Media Management students.

Temasek Olympiad 2015 : Freshmen Orientation Finale

Summary: The inaugural Temasek Olympiad 2015 was held at the Jalan Besar Stadium. Students from the six schools gathered on the final day of the Freshmen Orientation Camp (FOC) to compete against each other in activities such as telematch, games and dances. The School of Humanities and Social Sciences was the champion for this Olympiad.

The annual open house was held to enable secondary school students to make an informed choice regarding their educational path after they have completed their studies. The secondary school students were given the opportunity to meet up with the lecturers from the respective schools, have a chat with them on the diploma courses offered and the different options available, tour the campus and met up with TP students to find out more about the facilities and life in the campus. Some of the activities provided during the 3-day open house included 3D Virtual Reality tours, a fashion show, closed-up with a real-life Hawker Siddeley 700A private jet, analysed forensic evidence, and more.

Temasek Regatta 2017

Summary: The grand finale of the Temasek Polytechnic freshmen orientation 2017 was the regatta held at the Bedok Reservoir. Comprising seven official races, which included the freshmen, juniors/seniors, alumni and staff categories, the regatta is a must-attend for everyone who is part of the TP family. Senior management staff, including Principal & CEO, Mr Peter Lam and Board of Governors, Mr Lee Kok Choy, were present to cheer on all teams participating in the dragon boat races. The energetic students from the School of Engineering clinched the overall championship crown, the fourth consecutive year it has done so.
