Temasek Polytechnic first tree planting day

Description: Temasek Polytechnic first tree planting day was held at the Triangular Garden on 4 November 2000 during the National Clean and Green Week. Principal/PCEO Dr N Varaprasad together with deputy principals, Mr Ang Keng Loo and Mr Geoffrey Ng, led the nine Directors and 10 children from Kinderland Child Care Centre in the tree planting.

The many faces of Singapore 2004

Description: The finals for the 5th Singapore Tourism Competition for schools, "The Many Faces of Singapore", was held at Temasek Polytechnic Auditorium on July 2004. It was jointly organised by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Singapore Chapter and Temasek Polytechnic with support from Singapore Tourism Board. The competition was opened to all secondary schools and students were encouraged to explore unique ideas based on local heritage, history, beliefs, or the arts to draw tourist to Singapore. About 4,600 students from 61 secondary schools took part in the competition with 16 teams making it to the finals.

Temasek Regatta 2006

Description: Temasek Regatta 2006 kicked off on April 21, 2006 with secondary school students, TP students, and staff gathering at the Bedok Reservoir for a battle on the water. The regatta was the grand finale of the Temasek Polytechnic freshmen orientation 2006. For the second year running, numerous secondary schools were invited to compete against one another in the dragon boat competition as part of TP's outreach programme. After an intense fight, CHIJ Katong Convent finished first in the Women's Finals, while Mayflower and Evergreen Secondary Schools came in second and third, respectively. In the Men's Finals, Victoria School emerged champion, while Bukit Panjang and Chung Cheng High (Yishun) finished runners-up and second runners-up, respectively. In the afternoon, staff and students, led by Principal & CEO Mr Boo Kheng Hua, took to the water to compete in the inter-school dragon boat races and friendship races.

Pedestrians accessing Temasek Polytechnic campus via Overhead Bridge and Audi Foyer

Description: There are only two entry/exit points for pedestrians wanting to access Temasek Polytechnic campus. All pedestrians may enter via the overhead bridge if they have the temperature badge or via the main audi foyer to have their temperature screened. Safe Entry will also be checked at either of these entrances.

Beyond O Level Seminar 2020

Description: The annual Beyond O Level Seminar (BOL) was held on 11 January 2020 at the Temasek Polytechnic Auditorium 1. The Seminar was held in two sessions which catered exclusively to the needs of parents and students awaiting the 'O' level results. The event was organised by the Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and held in conjunction with TP's Open House. The aim of the seminar was to address the many questions parents and students had regarding a polytechnic education, admissions, scholarships, further education and career opportunities. After the Seminar, participants were also given opportunities to go on guided tours to explore TP's vibrant campus ground including many top-notch learning facilities.

Alice-in-Action Challenge 2010

Description: The National Infocomm Competition (NIC) is a series of infocomm-themed competitions to expose students to areas such as robotics, artificial intelligence, data science and mobile application development. A total of 3,000 students from secondary schools, junior colleges, ITE and polytechnics took part in 15 challenges within the NIC in 2010. One of the themed challenges was titled "Alice-in-Action" and was organised by Temasek Polytechnic School of Informatics & IT on 4 November 2010 for secondary schools. For the 2010 challenge, Bedok View Secondary School, Hwa Chong Institution, Nan Hua High, Bowen Secondary, Raffles Institution were among some of the participating schools. On hand to present the awards to prize winners was Mrs Lee-Lim Sok Keow, Director, School of Informatics & IT.

A total of 5,800 students received their diplomas and post-diploma qualifications from TP's full-time and part-time courses. Day 4 session 11 graduation ceremony was held on Monday, 8 May 2017 at 2.00pm at the Temasek Convention Centre. Guest of honour for the ceremony was Mr Joseph Ong, Managing Director of 1-Group Pte. Collection of notebooks which were on loan to freshmen during the circuit breaker

Description: Freshmen collected their notebooks at the Temasek Aviation Academy (TAA) and the AI &Analytics Hub in April 2020. The notebooks were loaned out to freshmen who were waiting to purchase or collect their notebooks and also for those who were waiting for financial assistance to get them. The notebooks were loan to them as an interim measure as the campus was closed during the circuit breaker and they could not used the computers in the library or school labs.

TP staff volunteers helped to baseline notebooks for loan to freshmen during circuit breaker

The uScan thermometer

Description: The thermometer developed by Temasek Polytechnic has undergone various design revamps. It started off with Temperature Badge which was created in 2003 during the SARS outbreak. In 2009, the Temperature Badge was replaced by iCOOL. In 2011, through industrial collaboration, the iCOOL was licensed to and aesthetically re-designed and manufactured by OSIM. It was sold under the name uScan. The latest version incorporated earlier features including measuring and displaying one’s temperature which would take about 40 seconds, and a LED panel which would indicate whether the wearer is fever-free. The LED status would remain for 4 hours, before the user is prompted to measure their temperature again. Users can also reviewed their past temperature records (up to 10 readings). The thermometer was again put in good use when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in late 2019.

Library displays

Description: Photographs of library displays and signages produced in house between 1998 to 2001 to promote and create awareness of different types of library resources. Some of these displays were held in conjunction with TP wide events such as the annual Tech month. Books of the month featured hot off the press titles such as Lee Kuan Yew memoir to current topics such as e-learning and health & nutrition. BOM displays were usually located at the Reading Lounge of the Library on Level 2. Signage on the rotoflex shelves informed patrons about newspapers clippings of current and past years' articles arranged by subject headings. Plus, signage of shelf call numbers and corresponding subject headings on Level 9, Design floor. There were also thematic glass window displays at level 3 Microcomputer Resources Room as well as outside of the Learning Resource Centre.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) Open House 2010 was held on 7 to 9 January 2010. The annual open house was held to enable secondary school students to make an informed choice regarding their educational path after they have completed their studies. The secondary school students were given the opportunity to meet up with the lecturers from the respective schools, have a chat with them on the diploma courses offered, tour the campus and meet up with TP students to find out more about the outstanding facilities, the different options open to them and life in the campus. Some of the activities provided during the 3-day open house included a fashion show, performances by TP students (Malay Dance Group, Salvo Drums Troupe, The Blazers cheerleading team, concert with live band, percussion music) culminating in the Jam & Hop celebration with Zouk DJ Andrew Chow playing live non-stop hit music.
