Press release. 24 Oct. 2012. Criminal Investigation Department partners with Temasek Polytechnic to enhance the quality of digital forensic science in Singapore

Summary: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and the Criminal Investigation Department's (CID) Technology Crime Forensic Branch of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 24 Oct 2012. This partnership facilitated the sharing of knowledge and skills in digital forensics and investigations between the CID and TP, enabling them to build a better understanding and an appreciation of the operational requirements, encountered in actual crime investigations. The MOU was signed by Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SAC), Hoong Wee Teck, Director, Criminal Investigation Department and Mrs Lee-Lim Sok Keow, Deputy Principal and Director, School of Informatics & IT, Temasek Polytechnic and witnessed by senior staff from both institutions.

Graduation ceremony 2007, day 1 session 1

The ceremonies spanned over 9 sessions and saw students donning on graduation gowns for the first time since 1991 when it was first introduced for the pioneer batch of graduands. Day 1: Session 1. The first session of the Graduation Ceremony featured graduands from Temasek Business School - Diploma in Business, Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Business, Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management, Diploma in Hospitality Management and Diploma Tourism Management. Temasek Polytechnic Open House 2017, day 2

Summary: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) Open House 2017 was held on 5 to 7 January 2017. The annual open house was held to enable secondary school students to make an informed choice regarding their educational path after they have completed their studies. The secondary school students were given the opportunity to meet up with the lecturers from the respective schools, have a chat with them on the diploma courses offered and the different options available, tour the campus and met up with TP students to find out more about the facilities and life in the campus. Some of the activities provided during the 3-day open house included 3D Virtual Reality tours, a fashion show, closed-up with a real-life Hawker Siddeley 700A private jet, analysed forensic evidence, and more.

Campus Care Network Day, Nov 2017

Summary: The Campus Care Network (CCN) Day Carnival is a signature event of the Temasek Polytechnic. Held twice a year on campus, the carnival brings the entire polytechnic together as staff and students set up stalls to raise funds for students in need of financial assistance. The 2nd CCN Day was held on 17 November 2017 and for the first time it jumped on the cashless bandwagon to raise funds for the needy students. Staff and students were encouraged to use DBS PayLah! for the purchase at various stall as the bank will donate $1 for the cause for every download of the DBS Paylah! app.

Polytechnic Foundation Programme seminar : new through-train pathway for Normal (Academic) students

Summary: On 18 July 2012, a nationwide Join-Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) was organised by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and all five polytechnics. Secondary schools were invited to send their top Secondary 4 Normal (Academic) students to attend the seminar. An estimated 1,800 students and their parents as well as teachers attended the Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) seminar to find out more about PFP. Mr William Lim, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education (MOE) Higher Education Division, enlightened guests on the PFP. PFP offers a practice-oriented curriculum to prepare Normal (Academic) students for entry into relevant polytechnic diploma courses. This programme is an alternative pathway to Secondary Five and offers students the opportunity to pursue diplomas with more than 80% of Polytechnic Diploma courses in all five polytechnics in Singapore. Ms Katherine Rajah, Temasek Polytechnic's Assistant Director, School of Engineering Academic Development spoke on TP's PFP one-year programme which offered a practice-oriented curriculum that was specially designed to lay a strong foundation in Language and Mathematics and gave polytechnic-bound Normal (Academic) students a foretaste of their chosen diploma courses. The seminar's Q&A session provided a platform for the audience to surface questions regarding PFP to a panel comprising of representatives from MOE and the five polytechnics. PFP student ambassadors were also on hand to provide information on the programme and the different courses that TP offered. This first Joint-PFP seminar was held at the Republic Polytechnic Agora Halls.

Campus Care Network Day, Nov. 2011

Summary: Twice a year, Temasek Polytechnic holds its Campus Care Network (CCN) Day, a long-held tradition where staff and students put up a campus-wide bazaar and online sale to raise funds for students in need of financial assistance.The second CCN Day for 2011 was held on 18 November. Stalls were set up at the plaza and along the Schools' concourse areas selling an assortment of items ranging from food, drinks, ice-creams, jade accessories and more. Pet grooming sessions were also conducted at the Veterinary Technology's Animal Clinic to aid in the fund raising.
