TP-ECOllab symposium 2023 : enabling green resilience

Description: The inaugural TP-ECOllab Symposium 2023 was held on Tuesday, 7 November 2023, at Auditorium 1, Temasek Polytechnic (TP). This event aimed to share practical know-how and solutions with industries to support them in their sustainability journey. The symposium featured notable industry speakers, including Dr. Bicky Bhangu, President of the UN Global Compact Network Singapore and President of Rolls-Royce for Southeast Asia, the Pacific, and South Korea; Ms. Esther An, Chief Sustainability Officer of City Developments Limited; Mr. Wallace Lim, Chief Sustainability Officer and Director of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Temasek Polytechnic; Ms. Koh Kai Qian from the Public Sector Sustainability Office at the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment; and Mr. Shridhar Ravikumar, Global Product Manager, Industry 4.0, TUV SUD Asia Pacific. The event also highlighted the practical application of knowledge and the commitment to sustainability from TP’s academic schools.

Campus Care Network Day 2015

Description: The Campus Care Network (CCN) Day Carnival is a signature event of the Temasek Polytechnic. Held twice a year on campus, the carnival brings the entire polytechnic together as staff and students set up stalls to raise funds for students in need of financial assistance.The first CCN Day of the year was held on 29 April 2015 during the TP 25th Anniversary Opening Event celebration. The 2nd CCN Day was held on 13 November 2015. Fund raising activities this year include the sale of snow cones and homemade ice pops; pet themed tote bag; handmade Christmas soap; and a chance to de-stress and take photographs with the animals at the Temasek Polytechnic Animal Facility.

Campus Care Network Day 1994

Bandannas Day : bandanna

The yellow bandannas was sold at $5 apiece during the Orientation finale and the proceeds from the sale went to four charitable organisations: the Singapore Association for the Deaf, the Handicap Welfare Association, the Singapore Association for the Visually Handicapped, and the Spastic Children's Association of Singapore

Sketch over colour splashes workshop

Description: Madam Tia Boon Sim, lecturer from TP's School of Design conducted a sketching workshop on 16 February 2012. Participants learned to develop their sketches from a focal point using oil pastel crayon sticks and water-soluble mediums. Splashing, mixing colours on paper, scratching/scraping, wax-resist were some ways that participants could use to create interesting marks. They were also encouraged to experiment with bamboo pens, different inks and any other water-soluble mediums, strings, crayons during the sketching process. The workshop aimed to help participants appreciate the unexpected outcomes in art and learn to have fun with the process of exploring various expressions through sketching and colouring techniques.

Visit by students of Yishun Town Secondary School

Description: On 3 July 2013, students from Yishun Town Secondary School visited the Temasek Polytechnic. Staff from the Centre for Foundation Studies shared on the different admission routes to polytechnic studies including the one-year Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) at TP. The foundation programmme's practice-oriented curriculum will prepare Normal (Academic) students for entry into relevant polytechnic diploma courses. The 1st batch of student intake for the PFP @ TP commenced in April 2013 for students who performed very well in the Singapore-Cambridge GCE N-level Examinations.

TPRAWKS 2014, day 1

Description: A 3-day non residential camp for secondary school students, especially for those taking their O-level exams in 2014. It was held on 17 to 19 November 2014. The objective was to allow these students to experience TP's way of life. Lecturers from the different academic schools were present to explain the types of diploma courses available, and under their expert guidance, students had a taste of hands-on poly education. Some of the activities held during the 3-day camp included sing along sessions, quizzes and games, sports especially water sports like canoeing in Bedok Reservoir, an opportunity to be a performer in the Black Box Theatre, and the grand finale, "Jam and hop".

Graduation Ceremony 2008, day 1

Description: The Temasek Polytechnic graduation ceremony spanned over 9 sessions from 21 to 23 May 2008. Guest of honour, Mr Gan Kim Yong, Acting Minister of Manpower, officiated the opening session held on Wednesday, 21 May 2008 at 9.30am at the Temasek Convention Centre. A total of 4703 students graduated from 35 full-time diploma courses and 5 part-time courses. Day 1: Session 1 - Graduands from the Temasek Busines School: Diploma in Communications & Media Management; Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Business; Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management and Diploma in Retail Management. Session 2 - Graduands from the Temasek Engineering School : Diploma in Biomedical Informatics & Engineering; Diploma in Business Process & Systems Engineering; Diploma in Info-Communications and Advanced Diploma in Quality Engineering & Management (FlexQETM) (Part-time). Session 3 - Graduands from the Temasek Engineering School: Diploma in Computer Engineering; Diploma in Electronics and Diploma in Telecommunications.
