The Open House was extended to a Sunday for the first time to allow members of the public to visit during the weekend. Visitors were bought on a tour of the Polytechnic's facilities.

Beside offering information about the courses through exhibitions and course and career counselling, the annual event also included other highlights such as the Mr and Miss Tourism Personality Pageant, Travel Carnival, Movie Preview and a mural painting by staff and student. The Tourism Personality Pageant was organised for the the first time by the Tourism Management students.

Description: The Temasek Polytechnic Open House was held from 8 to 10 February 1996. The theme was "Happenin" Place, Best Choices, Go East. Beside course and career counsellings, visitors were also invited to tour the brand new campus, surfed the internet and World Wide Web and browsed through student project exhibits. Other highlights included in the annual event were a stunning fashion show, live performances and great buys at the bazaar and travel fair. Freebies such as movie tickets, Norgen-Vaaz ice-cream, posters and souvenirs were also given away.

Description: The Temasek Polytechnic Open House was held from 12 to 14 February 1998. About 400 students were recruited as I-Guides or Information Guides for the first time. The guides acted as walking "information booths", guiding visitors, providing information on the polytechnic and leading groups of students and teachers from their secondary schools to TP. A cybercafe for teachers was also provided for secondary school teachers that accompanied their students to the Open House. Beside course and career counsellings, visitors were also invited to link up with an overseas friend via satellite, design web pages and try pottery and caricature demos. Other highlights included in the annual event were a student fashion show and live performances.
