Description: Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Education, officiated the launch of Temasek Polytechnics (TP) Advanced Manufacturing Centre (TP AMC), on 18 June 2021. The TP AMC, the first such facility in an Institute of Higher Learning, is a fully integrated end-to-end manufacturing facility that features a "live" AI-enabled manufacturing line, capable of high-mix low-volume production. It also included a smart warehouse that has an automated storage and order picking system, and a nerve centre that provides real-time analysis and optimisation using data analytics. A Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) was also signed at the launch event between TP and Industry Partners Network which comprised key industry partners and trade associations such as OMRON Electronics, Fujitsu Singapore, Arcstone Pte Ltd, M8M Pte Ltd, PDS Pte Ltd and Swisslog as well as the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) and Singapore Precision Engineering & Technology Association (SPETA). The five polytechnics also signed MOUs with the Advanced Manufacturing Training Academy (AMTA) at the event to deepen the polytechnics collective commitment to training and capability development in this field.

Description: Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, Second Minister for the Ministry of Education, officiated at the opening session of Temasek Polytechnic's Graduation Ceremony on Monday, 3 May 2021 at the Temasek Convention Centre. A total of 6,203 students graduated from 47 full-time diploma courses and 42 part-time courses. The graduation ceremonies spanned over 35 sessions from 3 to 11 May 2021. The sessions were also livestreamed so that family and friends could be part of the celebration. Dr Maliki presented the polytechnic-level awards to the top graduates and also addressed the graduates from the full-time Diplomas in Big Data Management & Governance, Cyber & Digital Security and Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics at the opening session. Mr Lee Kok Choy, Chairman, TP’s Board of Governors, presented the Skills Mastery Award which recognised students who have demonstrated strong mastery of course-specific skills through their achievements in competitions. A total of 13 Skills Mastery Awards were given out this year.

The course curriculum was developed by staff from TPs School of Applied Science, and will train participants to do COVID-19 testing via blended learning and hands-on practical sessions. Lessons will cover basic knowledge and skills needed to work in a molecular diagnostic laboratory for virus detection. Description: Stylish protective gear for PMD users, Car-lite malls of the future and Athleisure-Inspired wedding gowns were only some of the 400 innovative projects showcased by the graduating class of TP School of Design. These projects across fashion, architecture, film, product design and communication design disciplines was held from 8 to 11 March 2019 at the Temasek Polytechnic School of Design, Block 28A. In an effort to train young minds to be responsible designers, the Design Show also included Sustainability Awards. The top three projects that address bigger issues of the world through their designs such as reducing poverty, resolving hunger and responsible consumption, received a $1,000 prize each. Description: Temasek Polytechnic graduating Business Information Technology (BIT) students created a Scan and Go mobile application that allows shoppers to scan and pay for their grocery items via their mobile phones. This is just one of the 20 final-year projects by BIT students which used innovative technical solutions to boost productivity. The event, Meeting Young Minds @ BIT Project Show, was held on Wednesday, 20 February 2019 at Temasek Polytechnic Main Foyer and was opened to the public.

Description: 99%SME Retail Carnival was held from 19 to 20 January 2019 at Our Tampines Hub (OTH). Organised by 75 second-year students from Temasek Polytechnics (TP) School of Business, the retail carnival is part of an ongoing partnership between TP and OTH, to enhance student development and community engagement.The event follows the revamped 99%SME platform (www.99sme.sg) launch for the nationwide movement co-founded by Singtel and DBS, which helps SMEs adopt digital technology to grow their businesses.

Description: The Graduate Employment Survey (GES), jointly conducted by the five polytechnics, showed that polytechnic graduates continue to be sought after by employers and commanded higher salaries in 2018 than in 2017. Among respondents who entered the labour force, the overall employment rate six months after graduation was 89.5%, 2.2 percentage points higher than in 2017. The proportion who were unemployed and still looking for a job or in involuntary part-time/temporary employment decreased by 4.4 percentage points.

Description: Assistive Technology Library @ TP was launched on 13 November 2018 in the TP Library. The set-up was a result of a collaboration between Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and SPD, with support from Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA). Temasek Polytechnic students with special educational needs (SEN) would be able to test and try out various Assistive Technology (AT) devices onsite. They would also be able to loan them out on a short-term basis before purchasing them, or when their own devices require maintenance. The event also witnessed the signing of an MOU by TP's Principal & CEO, Mr Peter Lam and Mr Abhimanyau Pal, Executive Director, SPD.

Description: The inaugural Joint Poly-ITE Tourism Career Fair 2018 was launched on 31 October 2018 by Temasek Polytechnic (TP), which leads the Tourism Sector-Co-ordination team (SCT). The event, Tourism Transformation, raised tourism job profiles and encouraged students to pursue tourism sector careers, as well as served as a platform for tourism partners to showcase career progression pathways and engage potential talents. The Skills Framework for Tourism was also unveiled to support the manpower strategies, highlighting pivotal jobs and critical skills needed in the Tourism sector. It provides information on the sector, career pathways, identifies 109 existing and emerging skills and competencies across 69 occupations/job roles, as well as training programmes which support the development of these skills.
