In conjunction with the 16th Safety and Security Asia ((SSA) 2017, Temasek Polytechnic's Security Industry Institute organised the Security Industry Conference 017 (SIC) and Security Industry Masterclass 2017 on 5 & 6 October respectively, at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre. Themed "Global terrorism: impact on Singapore" the two events showcased the very best of state-of-the-art smart security solutions. SIC 2017 featured speeches by Mr Yaniv Peretz from Israel, Dr. Graham Gerard Ong-Webb, Mr Danny Chan, Mr. Raj Joshua Thomas, Mr. Kerran Campbell and Mr. Benjamin Ang. The guest-of-honour for SIC 2017 was Mr Patrick Tay, Chairman, Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) for Manpower, Member of Parliament, West Coast GRC & Assistant Secretary-General, National Trades Union Congress (NTUC).
