Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and A*STAR's Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) developed a new nano-engineered screen protector that turned the ordinary screens of handheld devices into 3D displays. It would be marketed by start-up, Nanoveu Pte Ltd. The unique plastic film could also potentially be used as next generation security tokens employed by banks and corporations. Dr Jaslyn Law, the IMRE scientist and Mr Frank Chan, the TP scientist who led the overall National Research Foundation (NRF) funded project worked on the product since 2010. Mrs Lay-Tan Siok Lie, Deputy Principal of TP, Mr Alfred Chong, Nanoveu Pte Ltd Founder and CEO and Prof Andy Hor, Executive Director of IMRE shared their comments on the product.
