Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) School of Design partnered with BERNINA Singapore, a Swiss international manufacturer of sewing and embroidery systems to launch the TP-BERNINA Creative Studio, a collaborative workspace at TPs School of Design (DES), fitted with Bernina's sewing machines, embroidery machines, overlockers and embroidery software. The partnership was cemented with the signing of an MOU between TP and BERNINA by Mr Lim Chong Jin, Director, TP's School of Design and Ms Katharina Ueltschi, Director, BERNINA Singapore, on Friday, 30 October 2020. The signing was witnessed by Guest-of-Honour, His Excellency Fabrice Filliez, Swiss Ambassador to Singapore and Ms Anita Kuan, Deputy Principal, TP.

Press release. 17 Dec. 2014. Pivotal, EMC and Temasek Polytechnic launch Singapore's first Data Science Academy

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) partnered with Pivotal Software, Inc., and EMC Computer Systems to launch the TP-Pivotal Data Science Academy, one of the first data science academies in the Asia-Pacific region offering a practical, hands-on program for training and certifying data scientists and big data engineers. Both companies provided the hardware, software and initial expertise to kick start the Academy program. The first intake commenced in Q2/3 2015, with 100 participants enrolled in the first year. Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and DDB Worldwide signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 28 October 2016 to set up a satellite office of Equator to groom the next generation of creative technologists in Singapore. Equator is DDB Worldwide's first-ever global centre of excellence for technology and innovation to pioneer digital transformation marketing solutions. A diverse pool of students from the School of Informatics & IT, School of Design, School of Engineering and School of Business would serve their internships at the on-campus agency. Ms Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Education & Ministry of Trade and Industry, witnessed the signing of the MOU by Mr Peter Lam, Principal & CEO, Temasek Polytechnic and David Tang, CEO of DDB Asia. The first project co-created with TP student was a community project called the Personal Response for Emergency Situations (P.R.E.S.) -- a mobile application that allows users to send one-touch distress signals to their loved ones and relevant authorities, alerting them to possible emergencies such as a terrorist attack or a disaster.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and NTUC Foodfare signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the "War on diabetes" to develop healthier meal options that would benefit the masses through NTUC Social Enterprises' reach of dining, supermarket, eldercare and early childhood education chains. A series of healthier choice, low Glycemic Index (GI) halal meals, created by TP's School of Applied Science were made available at NTUC Foodfare's newly opened dining space, Kitchen Loft. TP also created six varieties of low GI ready-to-eat frozen pizzas that were included in NTUC FairPrice's house brand range of products. The new product range had been tested at the region's only accredited GI Research Unit housed at TP and was expected to be made available at NTUC FairPrice stores from April 2017. Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) attended the unveiling of the Low GI meals, and also witnessed the MOU signing between TP and NTUC Foodfare. Dr Lee Chee Wee, Director, School of Applied Science at TP and Mr Perry Ong, CEO at NTUC Foodfare signed the MOU on 5 January 2017.

Press release. 25 May 2017. Milestone SIT-TP and SUSS-TP partnerships will allow poly graduates in SkillsFuture earn & learn programmes to take university modules in SIT and SUSS

Description: Minister for Education (Higher Education & Skills) and Second Minister for Defence Mr Ong Ye Kung witnessed the signing of Collaboration Agreements between the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP), and between Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP) to offer relevant skills-based undergraduate modules to polytechnic graduates embarking on the SkillsFuture Earn ad Learn Programme (ELP). The Joint-ELP Collaboration Agreements were signed by Professor Tan Thiam Soon, President, SIT, Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, President, SUSS and Mr Peter Lam, Principal & CEO, TP. The signing was also witnessed by Mr Ng Cher Pong, Chief Executive of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). Under the Agreements, ELP participants would be able to take modules alongside existing undergraduates from the relevant degree programmes offered by both universities. Upon completion of the ELP, they could apply to enrol in the corresponding degree programmes at SUSS or SIT, with due credit recognition given.

Press release. 27 June 2016. Singapore's 1st Resource Centre for Aquaculture & Veterinary Science is launched in Temasek Polytechnic

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) launched the Centre for Aquaculture and Veterinary Science (CAVS), the first of its kind in Singapore on Monday, 27 June 2016 at Auditorium 3. Guest-of-honour was Dr Koh Poh Koon, Minister of State for Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Trade and Industry. The inauguration of CAVS also included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between TP and its industry partner APOLLO Aquaculture Group Pte Ltd. The partnership would see joint activities and commitments in areas such as research and development efforts for intensive cultivation of fish and crustaceans, as well as training programmes for TP students in aquaculture engineering, production and support.
