Description: Temasek Polytechnic's Engineering Project Show was held on Friday 9 January 2015 at the Temasek Convention Centre. Some 80 final-year projects were showcased. Among them were: an anti-riot shield with a miniature wireless camera and LED strobe lights to capture video footage of the goings-on in front of the shield, and monitored remotely and real-time at a police command centre; an enhanced ground operations safety manual that is on par with international standards; a device to deter cash card thefts from a car's In-Vehicle Unit; a remote controlled drone to save a drowning person at sea.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Serious Games Association (Singapore), and kicked started their collaboration by hosting the inaugural Gamification Day on Thursday, 17 November 2016. Under the MOU, students from TP's Diploma in Game Design & Development would engage with the Serious Games Association on collaborative projects, internships and involvement in industry led events co-hosted by the Serious Games Association and TP. Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) commemorated its 25th anniversary with a home-grown musical called "Crunch Time!" -- a comedy musical with a serious message about the importance of family relationships over material success. TP's 4th musical was held from 4-7 November 2015 at Auditorium 1, Temasek Polytechnic. Sonny Lim was the artistic director and the show was co-produced with local playwright, director and actress Aidli Mosbit. Among the talented cast was 2014 Project Superstar female category winner, Abigail Yeo, who took on the lead role of Xena.

Description: In its continuing effort to promote lifelong learning, Temasek Polytechnic (TP) would offer its alumni over 100 courses as part of the SkillsFuture Series to support working adults with industry-relevant training, making it the first polytechnic to offer free training places to its alumni. This would take place from January 2018 and some 1,500 TP graduates would have an opportunity to benefit from one free SkillsFuture Series course. Temasek Polyrechnic co-leads the cybersecurity area under the SkillsFuture Series, and would progressively roll out more courses to support the training needs of working adults. These courses are tiered across three proficiency levels to cater to Singaporeans at different stages of learning -- basic, intermediate and advance.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) hosted the annual Poly-ITE Social Innovation Research (SIR) Forum on Tuesday, 30 July 2013 in TP's Auditorium 2. The Forum featured 21 projects related to healthcare, special needs, the elderly, and the environment, undertaken by staff and students from the Institute of Technical Education, Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic. Presentations were made by representatives from each polytechnic and ITE. Description: The 15th Polytechnic Student Research Programme (PSRP) award presentation ceremony was held on Thursday, 8 March 2012 at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. A total of 80 final-year PSRP projects were undertaken by the five polytechnics and the team with the best PSRP project from each polytechnic received a cash award at the ceremony. Prof Jackie Y. Ying, the Executive Director at A*STAR Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology was the guest-of-honour. The winning projects from Temasek Polytechic were "Isolation of circulating tumour cells using a novel microsieve cartridge" and "Realising Internet of things (IoT) through service oriented dynamic sensor network". Mr Chia Mia Chiang, Principal, Ngee Ann Polytechnic gave the welcome address.

Description: The joint polytechnic press release on higher pay for poly grads in 2011 was released on 6 February 2012. It revealed the findings of the Graduate employment survey conducted between October and November 2011 by the five polytechnics. This annual Graduate employment survey was jointly conducted by Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic to ascertain the employment status of polytechnic graduates. The results of the survey showed that polytechnic graduates were in great demand by employers and earned more with higher remuneration, compared to the previous year.

Press release. 27 June 2013. Menlo Worldwide Logistics and Temasek Polytechnic establish scholarship programme, announce 2013 winners

Description: Menlo Worldwide Logistics (Menlo) and Temasek Polytechnic signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 27 June 2013 to establish a new scholarship programme for students pursuing careers in logistics and supply chain management. Under the programme, Menlo established four annual scholarships of S$2,500 each. These scholarships were awarded to selected students in their third and final year of study pursuing the Diploma in Operations and Logistics Managementat at TP's School of Business. The recipients of Menlo's four scholarships for 2013 were Ong Si Ru Sharon, Lim KeWei Daryl James, Goh Jia Xian and Shen Zhi Kai Darrell. Press release. 02 Dec. 2014. Student entrepreneurs share the gift of design with children this holiday season

Description: Over two weekends in December, on 6 and 7, 13 and 14 December, 40 talented students, alumni and staff from Temasek Polytechnic's (TP) School of Design, in partnership with Sentosa, organised two workshops on silk-screening and card-making for children whose parents were working full-time or incarcerated in prison. The TP designers also set up shop called "Merry Makers Market" to sell unique, hand-crafted limited edition gift items that were both functional and beautiful, with some 15 stalls located at the Sentosa Boardwalk. In the spirit of inclusivity and giving during the holiday season, the children of the Fei Yue Student Care Centre and Salvation Army Prison Support Services - Kids In Play (KIP) received hand-crafted gifts from the TP design students.

Description: The official launch of Temasek Polytechnic's 25th anniversary celebrations by Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Mr Goh Chok Tong was held on Wednesday, 29 April 2015 at 10am at Auditorium 1. TP was established in 1990 with five satellite campuses, and became a beautiful 30-hectare campus by the scenic Bedok Reservoir in 1995. The year long celebrations included events like the TP 25 hour challenge in May, an International Conference on Learning & Teaching in October and a home-grown musical "Crunch time" in November. Apart from launching TP's 25th anniversary microsite, ESM Mr Goh was presented with a copy of TP's 25th anniversary commemorative book, "From silver to gold".

Description: Temasek Polytechnic's Meeting Young Minds @ BIT Project Show was held on Wednesday, 22 February 2017. Some 30 final-year projects developed by the graduating students of TP's Business Information Technology (BIT) course were on show to the public. One of the projects showcased was FALL-D -- a fall-detecting monitoring system that used a combination of motion detection, motion acceleration and voice recognition devices to trigger alerts to the caregiver via mobile application, if an emergency was suspected. Other student projects included the following: Enabling healthier meal choices from food photos and Facilities incident report system (FIRS) -- discussions were initiated with TP's Estates and Facilities Management Department to test-bed the system within campus. Also present were representatives from industry partners like FOMO Pay Private Ltd and Onelyst. Co-founder and CEO of Onelyst, Hizam Ismail, is a BIT alumnus and a graduate from TP in 2010.

Description: The graduating class of Temasek Polytechnic's School of Design showcased some four hundred innovative and meaningful projects from across fashion, architecture, film, product design and communication design disciplines. The Design Show was held from 9 - 12 March 2018. Design Show 2018 also saw the launch of the inaugural Sustainability Awards. The top three projects that addressed bigger issues of the world through their designs such as reducing poverty, resolving hunger and responsible consumption, would each receive a $1,000 prize.

Young leaders series 2012

Description: Temasek Polytechnic hosted the Young leaders series on 31 October to 1 November 2012 for students from different secondary schools. Organised by the Corporate Communications Department, this series of events invited outstanding students with good academic and CCA records to come to TP and get a taste of some of the opportunities they would be able to enjoy as TP scholars and student leaders. This outreach programme, which imparted essential life skills while showcasing the benefits of a TP education was conducted by the Centre for Character & Leadership Education and the Entrepreneurship Centre. Besides students learning about building self-confidence, the series of indoor and outdoor programmes enabled the students not only to focus on achieving strong leadership and teamwork skills, but also looked to the needs of the team members and developed their potential. The theme for this Young leaders series was "Discover the person you want to be".

Road safety campaign exhibition

Description: The Temasek Polytechnic Library organised a road safety campaign exhibition in conjunction with the Road Safety Unit, Traffic Police. The exhibition entitled "We want you alive" was held at the TP Plaza area outside the Library. The objective was to create awareness of the danger of speed driving and the consequences of road traffic accidents.

KoolWerkz, this is her story

Description: The video introduces the beginnings of KoolWerkz, which starts out with green tea frozen dessert formulated at the Temasek Applied Science School. Overtime, it evolves into a dynamic partnership involving the four TP schools and the Entrepreneurship Centre. KoolWerkz is a learning enterprise located in Bedok North at the Gourmet East Kitchen. It is a fully equipped HACCP certified ice-cream making plant and A-grade food establishment. KoolWerkz produces healthier version of ice-cream and frozen desserts and in various flavours too. Chemical & biological tests are conducted to ensure food safety & quality at the ice cream plant, and it provides students with sales & marketing learning opportunities. KoolWerkz products are now sold through contract manufacturing, during community evens, in secondary schools and at Temasek Polytechnic.
