Description: From 16 to 18 November 2015, a non-residential camp spanning three days was organized for secondary school students, particularly those preparing for their O-level exams. The objective of the camp was to offer these students a first-hand experience of TP's way of life. Accompanied by lecturers from various academic schools, the students received explanations about the various diploma courses available, and they had the opportunity to actively participate in practical polytechnic education. Throughout the camp, a range of activities were conducted, including sing-along sessions, quizzes, games, and sports, with an emphasis on water sports like canoeing in Bedok Reservoir. The camp's pinnacle event, "Jam and Hop," served as the grand finale.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) School of Design partnered with BERNINA Singapore, a Swiss international manufacturer of sewing and embroidery systems to launch the TP-BERNINA Creative Studio, a collaborative workspace at TPs School of Design (DES), fitted with Bernina's sewing machines, embroidery machines, overlockers and embroidery software. The partnership was cemented with the signing of an MOU between TP and BERNINA by Mr Lim Chong Jin, Director, TP's School of Design and Ms Katharina Ueltschi, Director, BERNINA Singapore, on Friday, 30 October 2020. The signing was witnessed by Guest-of-Honour, His Excellency Fabrice Filliez, Swiss Ambassador to Singapore and Ms Anita Kuan, Deputy Principal, TP.

Description: Eleven recipients were presented to the media in the Presentation of Top Graduates event on Tuesday, 27 April 2021. The recipients of the awards were: Lee Kuan Yew Award - Viyshnatulasiy Manivannen, Ng Yong Jie, Teo Zhi Jie and Soh Woon Hao Kenneth; Tay Eng Soon Gold Medal - Josiah Tham; Lee Kong Chian Award - Chan Ming Jie Cerlynn, Soh Yan Kang Ian and Keisia Dominique Lim-Urquhart; CapitaLand Award for All-Round Excellence - Chew Ming En Lucas and Muhammad Juraimi B Rafinyi. The Ngee Ann Kongsi Most Outstanding Overcomer Award was given to Alina Seow Gek Ting who was diagnosed with diplegic cerebral palsy which affected both her legs.

The SMEC also aims to help companies and aspiring entrepreneurs boost their digitalisation efforts through training and collaborations with the TP community and these partners. Description: The inaugural Joint Poly-ITE Tourism Career Fair 2018 was launched on 31 October 2018 by Temasek Polytechnic (TP), which leads the Tourism Sector-Co-ordination team (SCT). The event, Tourism Transformation, raised tourism job profiles and encouraged students to pursue tourism sector careers, as well as served as a platform for tourism partners to showcase career progression pathways and engage potential talents. The Skills Framework for Tourism was also unveiled to support the manpower strategies, highlighting pivotal jobs and critical skills needed in the Tourism sector. It provides information on the sector, career pathways, identifies 109 existing and emerging skills and competencies across 69 occupations/job roles, as well as training programmes which support the development of these skills.

Description: The Design Show 2014 showcased a total of 420 projects from the graduating students of Temasek Polytechnic's School of Design. It was held at the Temasek Polytechnic Auditorium Foyer from 3 to 5 April 2014. Emphasis was placed on doing good and meaningful designs with a strong social message, resulting in an explosion of delightful, creative and innovative ideas across multiple disciplines that benefitted the community and drove change. Highlighted among the projects were "Cat clock and other strange things" by Nur Dianna Bte Sa'ad, "My house downstairs" by Loh Wan Ling, "Neighbourhood walk" by Chiang Pin Yi, "Urban nest" by Lee Teck Man, "Old boys" by Tan Jun Yuan. In addition to the exhibition of projects, was a series of fringe events that included talks and a dialogue between Environment Design students, industry leaders and urban planners such as the URA, the Singapore Institute of Architects and the Singapore Institute of Planners on the students' proposed visions for the Marina Bay urbanscape.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic Design Show 2016 was held from 31 March to 2 April at the Temasek Polytechnic Auditorium Foyer. A total of 450 innovative, purposeful ideas were showcased from the graduating class of the School of Design. Among them were "Fashion for wheel-chaired women" by Apparel Design & Merchandising students, Dorcas Lum and Denise Gow who created Orzora - a fashion and store concept that caters to wheelchair-bound women; "Preserving the HDB kampong spirit" which germinated from the idea of encouraging upcycling - to reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original, within the community, by Interior Architecture & Design student Xing Li; and 'The Puff Pal for asthmatic children" - an asthma inhaler that is ergonomically designed for children by Product & Industrial Design students Nur Syahidah Bte Roslan and Tay Jing Ying.

Description: More than 450 projects across fashion, architecture, film, product design and communication design disciplines were showcased from the graduating class of Temasek Polytechnic's School of Design. The Design Show was held at the School of Design on Friday, 3 March 2017. Among the 450 projects showcased was a bus feature for commuters to secure their strollers. With this product created by Jordan Ang, Product & Industrial Design student, parents would be able to push the stroller and hook it into the pram seat feature inside the bus. Also showcased were the heart wrenching drama "Seeing voices" by Charmaine Cheong, a student from the Digital Film & Television diploma course, who shared her inspiring story of caring for her mother with mental illness for the last 15 years; and "Luxury hostel experience for tourists" to overcome the cultural and language barriers of short-term-staying guests, by Ong Yue Li, Interior Architecture & Design student.

Description: A survey conduced by staff of Temasek Polytechnic's retail management diploma on some 300 youths aged between 16 - 24 revealed that the following factors made for a happier shopping experience: a good retail mix, a clean environment, easy access to public transportation and clear directional signs. The survey done was conducted at the launch of the inaugural National Retailing Competition in June 2013, to better understand youth shopping experience in Singapore. Most of the youths favoured retailers such as Isetan, Takashimaya, Challenger, Courts, H&M, Top Shop, NTUC Fairprice, 7-Eleven, Cheers, Watsons and Guardian.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic and Ngee Ann Polytechnic would be offering over 300 places in early childhood courses at the inaugural Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) commencing 22 June 2016. Instead of the usual one-to-one interviews with a panel of lecturers, students invited to interviews at the polytechnics would be assessed through their participation in group interviews as well as interesting activities, to gauge their aptitude and passion for working with children.The three full-time early childhood education diploma courses offered by the two polytechnics were the Diploma in Early Childhood Education (NP), Diploma in Child Psychology & Early Education (NP) and Diploma in Early Childhood Studies (TP). Mr Clarence Ti, Principal of Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Mr Ang Teck Hua, Director of TP's Centre for Child Study shared their views on the prerequisites needed to gain priority admission to courses in this field.

Description: A group of engineering students from Temasek Polytechnic's Diploma in Media & Communication Technology developed four assistive devices and applications to encourage greater independence for the visually handicapped. The four projects were showcased at the conference room of the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH) on Wednesday, 4 January, 2012. These projects were among 78 projects on display during TP's Engineering Project Show and also held in conjunction with TP's campus-wide Open House which was held from 5 - 7 January 2012.

Description: Mr Heng Swee Keat, Minister for Education, officiated at the opening session of Temasek Polytechnic's 23rd Graduation Ceremony on Friday, 17 May 2013 at 9.00am at the Temasek Convention Centre. The graduation ceremonies spanned over 14 sessions from 17 - 23 May 2013. This year, the first cohort of 66 graduands from the diploma in Early Childhood Studies received their diplomas. The first session saw Mr Heng presenting the Lee Kuan Yew Award, the Lee Kong Chian Award, the Tay Eng Soon Gold Medal Award, the CapitaLand Award for All-Round Excellence and the Lee Kong Chian Award for All-Round Excellence. In this opening session, in addition to the presentation of the top poly-level award winners, Mr Heng addressed the graduands from the Diplomas in Culinary & Catering Management and Hospitality & Tourism Management.

Description: TP InfoTech Day 2017 was held on Wednesday, 8 March 2017 at Main Foyer, Temasek Polytechnic. One of the projects showcased was ScamDefender, a one-stop portal for all things scam-related. The purpose of this project was to provide the public with early detection and warning against potential scams. A few other innovations on show included: FinTech ecosystem project - the Qlikview dashboard showcased key FinTech areas such as Blockchain, InsurTech and Payments & Remittance in a visually appealing manner; Clairvoyance -- a malware hunting solution with the investigation process and time for hunting down the malware greatly shortened; and Smart Distribution Board which used Internet of Things and cloud-based technologies to help users better manage energy usage and keep utility bills down.
