Beside offering information about the courses through exhibitions and course and career counselling, the annual event also included other highlights such as the Mr and Miss Tourism Personality Pageant, Travel Carnival, Movie Preview and a mural painting by staff and student. The Tourism Personality Pageant was organised for the the first time by the Tourism Management students.

Beside course and career counsellings, visitors were also invited to tour the brand new campus, surfed the internet and World Wide Web and browsed through student project exhibits. Other highlights included in the annual event were a stunning fashion show, live performances and great buys at the bazaar and travel fair. Freebies such as movie tickets, Norgen-Vaaz ice-cream, posters and souvenirs were also given away.

Description: The Temasek Polytechnic Open House was held from 12 to 14 February 1998. About 400 students were recruited as I-Guides or Information Guides for the first time. The guides acted as walking "information booths", guiding visitors, providing information on the polytechnic and leading groups of students and teachers from their secondary schools to TP. A cybercafe for teachers was also provided for secondary school teachers that accompanied their students to the Open House. Beside course and career counsellings, visitors were also invited to link up with an overseas friend via satellite, design web pages and try pottery and caricature demos. Other highlights included in the annual event were a student fashion show and live performances.

Description: The Temasek Polytechnic Open House was held from 4 to 6 February 1999. The theme for the Open House was "Be Yourself, Be the Best and Be at TP. Students were recruited as I-Guides to guide and provide information on the polytechnic to visitors. Beside course and career counselling, celebrities such as Kate Reyes from Perfect 10 and TCS actress Evelyn Tan, were invited to entertain the visitors. Other highlights included in the annual event were a student fashion show, flying fox and abseiling in the Plaza and live performances such as Rhythm & Dance and skit by the Drama Club.

Mr Boo Kheng Hua, Principal & CEO and senior management staff took the opportunity to walk around the different schools to observe the many different activities that were organised to entice the secondary school students to join the polytechnic after their O Level results. I-Guides, a group of volunteer students, were on hand to guide visitors around the campus and brief them about the various schools and activities going on. Some of the highlights of the the 3-day Open House included a couture catwalk featuring works by Apparel Design & Merchandising students, meet & greet Singapore Idol finalists, Olinda Cho and Sylvester Sim, doodle box, Engineering project show -- "experience" 3D computer graphics and visualisation technologies, animal and fish magic, maze of colourings & flavouring, courses & CCA exhibitions, performances by TP students, and water adventures such as dragon boating, canoeing and canoe-polo held at Bedok Reservoir. The finale of the Open House was the Jam and Hop session on 21 January 2006 evening with performances by Leandra and renowned local groups.
