Description: Assistive Technology Library @ TP was launched on 13 November 2018 in the TP Library. The set-up was a result of a collaboration between Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and SPD, with support from Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA). Temasek Polytechnic students with special educational needs (SEN) would be able to test and try out various Assistive Technology (AT) devices onsite. They would also be able to loan them out on a short-term basis before purchasing them, or when their own devices require maintenance. The event also witnessed the signing of an MOU by TP's Principal & CEO, Mr Peter Lam and Mr Abhimanyau Pal, Executive Director, SPD.

Description: To meet the rapid expansion of the early childhood education sector and increased demand for trained preschool teachers in Singapore, Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP) increased the intake places for their full-time early childhood education diploma courses, from a combined total of 380 to 675 places, in the new Academic Year starting April 2016. This represented a 77 per cent increase in total intake places. Starting from January 2016, the Diploma in Early Childhood Studies (ECS) students at Temasek Polytechnic (TP) could enhance their learning experience with TP's newly-enhanced laboratory preschool called PLAY (Preshool Learning Academy). PLAY was set up in January 2011 to provide TP's ECS diploma students with opportunities for demonstration, observation, modelling, and hands-on practice.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic played host to more than 900 secondary school students at the 12th annual Engineering & Science Discovery event on Wednesday, 14 October, 2015, at the Temasek Convention Centre. Jointly organised by Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic, the annual event for secondary school students was designed to introduce them to engineering in a simple, engaging way. On display was an exhibit by Singapore Science Centre, some interactive science models developed by the polytechnics and a video presentation by IN.Genius on space exploration attempts to put a Singaporean into space that year. Mr Seto Lok Yin, Chairman, Steering Committee for Learning Engineering at Polytechnics (LEAP) delivered the welcome address. Two guest speakers delivered their keynote addresses, "Innovation is a journey - not an idea" by Mr. Lim Seng, Founder, IN.Genius and "Fascinating physics in engineering" by Associate Professor Dr. Janchai Yingprayroon, Deputy Director for Academic Services and Research, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Bangkok. To bring home the fun in Engineering, Mr Tan Jui Kuan, performed a magic show "Discovering engineering with magic!".

Description: The Ministry of Health in Lao PDR, Temasek Polytechnic and Temasek Foundation teamed up to initiate a three-year capacity building training programme on public healthcare and nutrition intervention. Trainers from Temasek Polytechnic shared their knowledge in nutrition intervention with 100 public health and nutrition officials from schools, hospitals and health centres across Lao PDR. The opening ceremony of the Public Healthcare and Nutrition Intervention Programme was held on 14 Dec 2015 in Vientiane, Lao PDR, officiated by H.E Prof Eksavang Vongvichit, Minister of Health, Lao PDR. Also present were Mr Dominic Goh, Singapore Ambassador to Lao PDR, Mr Benedict Cheong, Chief Executive Officer, Temasek Foundation, and Dr Lee Chee Wee, Director, School of Applied Science, Temasek Polytechnic. Training was conducted both in Singapore and Lao PDR. It commenced in Vientiane from 14 to 18 December 2015, followed by two-week training in Singapore in March 2016.

Description: The annual Graduate Employment Survey was jointly conducted by Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic to ascertain the employment status of polytechnic graduates, approximately six months after completion of final examinations. For 2014, it was held between 1 October and 8 December and attracted a total of 15,321 respondents. The 2014 Survey showed that polytechnic graduates had healthy overall employment rates and salaries, similar to those who graduated in 2013.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) collaborated with Philips Lighting to launch the first connected lighting test bed on campus. The collaboration empowered TP students, under the guidance of lecturers and Philips' engineers, to create connected lighting solutions for the campus, and develop innovative ideas in the application of smart lighting. The collaboration kicked off with a competition for TP students titled, "Light beyond illumination: the smart campus edition". The competition ran from 15 August to 31 October 2016, and the brief was for students to innovate smart lighting applications to drive greater energy efficiencies and to improve the campus learning experience. Philips Lighting invested S$100,000 to enable the top two winning ideas to be implemented on a test bed on campus. Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and ST Kinetics collaborated to develop a Robotic Articulated Wheel Vehicle (RawV), an unmanned combat vehicle. It was developed by three students from the Diploma of Mechatronics as part of their final year major project cum student internship programme when they were attached to ST Kinetics. This unmanned vehicle is scalable and could be used for dangerous search and rescue operations, bomb disposal, mine detection, military surveillance behind enemy lines, and also function as a logistics transporter into enemy territory to help lighten the payload carried by troops. Description: The Graduate Employment Survey (GES), jointly conducted by the five polytechnics, showed that polytechnic graduates continue to be sought after by employers and commanded higher salaries in 2018 than in 2017. Among respondents who entered the labour force, the overall employment rate six months after graduation was 89.5%, 2.2 percentage points higher than in 2017. The proportion who were unemployed and still looking for a job or in involuntary part-time/temporary employment decreased by 4.4 percentage points.

Some 49 teams of students from 24 schools took part in the 2013 competition with the theme "Youth tourism". Description: Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Education, officiated the launch of Temasek Polytechnics (TP) Advanced Manufacturing Centre (TP AMC), on 18 June 2021. The TP AMC, the first such facility in an Institute of Higher Learning, is a fully integrated end-to-end manufacturing facility that features a "live" AI-enabled manufacturing line, capable of high-mix low-volume production. It also included a smart warehouse that has an automated storage and order picking system, and a nerve centre that provides real-time analysis and optimisation using data analytics. A Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) was also signed at the launch event between TP and Industry Partners Network which comprised key industry partners and trade associations such as OMRON Electronics, Fujitsu Singapore, Arcstone Pte Ltd, M8M Pte Ltd, PDS Pte Ltd and Swisslog as well as the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) and Singapore Precision Engineering & Technology Association (SPETA). The five polytechnics also signed MOUs with the Advanced Manufacturing Training Academy (AMTA) at the event to deepen the polytechnics collective commitment to training and capability development in this field.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) launched its cashless campus initiative in November 2017, with about 15,000 staff and students making e-payment transactions at its bi-annual charity fund-raising event, Campus Care Network (CCN) Day held on Friday, 17 November 2017. This CCN Day made history as TP collaborated with DBS Paylah! to enable more than 100 stalls to be supported with e-payment. Staff and students used the PayLah! app to scan the QR code at each stall and transferred the amount to the stall's e-wallet. On 3 November, TP launched its first cashless enabled canteen at the TP School of Design where all stalls had been equipped for e-payment with cards from NETS ATM, NETS Flashpay, OCBC PayAnyone, UOB Mighty as well as DBS Paylah! Description: Jointly organised by Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic, the 11th Engineering Discovery event for students was designed to introduce them to engineering in a simple, engaging way. About 300 students from 13 secondary schools had the opportunity to discover the wonders of engineering and its possibilities - with a little bit of help from robots, iron man and a magician. Among the highlights was an interactive exhibition which offered a hands-on experience of some engineering projects. "Body balance coaching app" and "Memory challenge" were 2 projects exhibited by Temasek Polytechnic. Description: The exhibition entitled "Coffee . Culture . Conversations" was held from 25 September to 28 October 2015 at The Art Gallery @ Temasek Polytechnic, Glocal Connect Village. The exhibition was organized by Temasek Polytechnic's Centre for TransCultural Studies (CTS), in collaboration with Maria Filatova, Dutch Colony Coffee and Santino Coffee Specialist. The Gallery exhibition featured Maria's caffeinated craft in a wall mural depicting the contemporary coffee culture in Singapore, along with a selection of her coffee paintings which did not have a protective layer so that visitors could smell the coffee! This curated exhibition was opened to the public and included workshops in Coffee painting and Latte art & barista appreciation.

Description: Singapore Mercantile Exchange (SMX), the first pan-Asian multi-product commodity and currency derivatives exchange signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 17 Dec 2012 with Temasek Polytechnic (TP). Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) partnered with Pivotal Software, Inc., and EMC Computer Systems to launch the TP-Pivotal Data Science Academy, one of the first data science academies in the Asia-Pacific region offering a practical, hands-on program for training and certifying data scientists and big data engineers. Both companies provided the hardware, software and initial expertise to kick start the Academy program. The first intake commenced in Q2/3 2015, with 100 participants enrolled in the first year. Description: Temasek Polytechnic organised the Tourism Innovation Competition 2012 for 205 students from 23 Secondary Schools and ITE Colleges. It was held from 15 to 22 June 2012. A total of 47 teams attempted to provide innovative solutions to accessibility problems for the special needs visitor in Sentosa. The special needs visitor profile included the disabled, elderly, families with young children, nursing mothers, and pregnant women. Consultation was held with TP's Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) / Leisure Resort Management (LRM) lecturers as well as staff from Singapore Tourism Board and Sentosa Development Corporation to fine-tune proposals on their assigned areas. The participants set up 47 on-site displays for the judges to view. The top 3 teams presented their proposals to the judges and their peers on 22 June 2012. Teo Wei Xuan, Cedar Girls Secondary School and Florentino Gem Paula Villar, from Yishun Town Secondary School gave comments on their proposals.

Description: With the telecom boom and healthy growth in the smartphone market in 2011, many graduating students from Temasek Polytechnic's Diploma of Business IT chose to design and develop applications for the mobile platform. Highlights of the show were "MP14: Pinyin Island iPhone Game" targeted at audience of kids aged 5-12 to make learning Mandarin fun, "MP15: My Heartland Singapore Web Portal" developed for Crystal Horizon Pte Ltd. and aimed to promote awareness of events in heartland malls, "MP17: World Gourmet Summit iPhone App" an iPhone app for Peter Knipp Holding's World Gourmet Summit and "MP19: LifeAtEvent Android App" a mobile app that allowed users to share attractions through photos, and which was one of the recipients of the prestigious 2011 Explorer Grant award. The Course Manager, Benedict Fernandez shared that students were free to choose what they want to work on and who they work with. Among the graduating students who participated in the projects were Darren Teo Wei Jie and Alvin Hoe. MeetingYoungMinds@BIT 2012 was held on 23 February 2012.
