This Award is funded by an honorarium that the late founding Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew received from various speaking engagements and funds raised from a special edition of his memoirs. Description: In line with the Government's heightened safe distancing measures, the polytechnics and ITE have made the difficult decision to cancel the graduation ceremonies which were scheduled to take place in May and July 2020. The cancellation affected some 26,000 graduands from the five polytechnics and 6,500 graduands from ITE. Institutions will make arrangements for diplomas/certificates and transcripts to be delivered to the graduands.

The Tay Eng Soon Gold Medal 2019

Description: In 1994, the Tay Eng Soon Scholarship Fund was established in memory of the late Senior Minister of State for Education, Dr Tay Eng Soon, who played a pivotal role in the development of polytechnic and technical education. From the fund, the Tay Eng Soon Gold Medal is awarded annually to outstanding graduates from each of the polytechnics, who graduated from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) prior to their studies at the polytechnic. Description: On 20 March 2012, Changi Airport Group (CAG) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to facilitate collaboration between both organisations in the areas of aviation training initiatives and sharing of expertise and information on best practices in the aviation industry.
