Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) is collaborating with key industry partners to train companies and their employees with the right skills and technological know-how in their transformation journey as Singapore's manufacturing sector moves into Industry 4.0 with digitalisation and automation of its processes. TP will be making its debut with a virtual booth at Industrial Transformation ASIA-PACIFIC (ITAP) 2020 which will be held from 20 to 22 October. TP and its partners, OMRON and Swisslog, will be showcasing capabilities in advanced manufacturing, especially in the areas of consultancy and training.

Description: In a press release dated 4 June, 2012, Temasek Polytechnic (TP) announced that it was the first institution of higher learning to be certified by Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) as a SAR-147 Approved Maintenance Training Organisation (MTO). TP's School of Engineering was audited and certified by CAAS as a MTO in offering training for its students from the Diploma in Aerospace Engineering and Diploma in Aerospace Electronics. Mrs Lay-Tan Siok Lie, Deputy Principal of Temasek Polytechnic and Director of the School of Engineering said that TP would continue to enhance its capabilities, facilities, equipment and teaching methodology, so as to ensure that its students would have a bright future.

Description: Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment, Mr Desmond Tan, launched Singapore’s first course on chiller refrigerant handling at Temasek Polytechnic (TP) on 15 September 2021. The course, a collaboration between the National Environment Agency (NEA) and TP, was intended to equip chiller technicians in the refrigeration and air-conditioning (RAC) industry with essential knowledge and skills to handle refrigerants correctly during the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning works on water-cooled chillers.

A total of 66 projects were on display showcasing students' solutions for some typically Singaporean problems. Among the projects were "The Ah Long detector", "A device to stop mosquitoes breeding", "A solution to bicycle accidents on the road", "The baby chair pram", "Gap crossing wheelchair", "No table to eat at if you don't plan to clear your tray".
