For the first time, Temasek Polytechnic held its Global Community Day (GCD) outside the campus. It partnered National Parks Board (Nparks) to stage the event, in conjunction with the Parks Festival at the Bedok Reservoir. The highlight of the celebrations was the staging of the first ever Lighting of WaterFire in Asia. The first fire was lit by guest-of-honour, Mr Chan Chun Sing, Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence. Various activities were held during the two-day event which celebrated diversity and promoted inter-cultural understanding. There were participation from embassies of various countries, cultural dances and performances, photo sessions and games for the public, TP students and staff.
