Graduation ceremony for part-time courses 2013

Description: The Temasek Polytechnic graduation ceremony for part-time courses was held on 30 October 2013 at Auditorium 1. Mr. Ben Lim, Director, School of Humanities & Social Sciences gave the opening address. A total of 252 working adults graduated from the following 7 part-time courses: Diploma in Legal Executive Studies; Diploma in Business Practice (Business Administration); Diploma in Security & Fire Safety Studies; Diploma in Police & Security Studies; Specialist Diploma in Hotel Operations & Management; Specialist Diploma in Accounting & Finance; Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education - Teaching. The guest of honour was Senior Assistant Commissioner, Zuraidah Abdullah, Commander of Training Command, Singapore Police Force. Also present at the ceremony was senior management staff, including Mr Boo Kheng Hua, Principal & CEO.

Poly-ITE Social Innovation Research Forum 2012

Description: The inaugural Poly-ITE Social Innovation Research (SIR) Forum - a platform to showcase projects co-funded by Tote Board as part of the Social Innovation Research (SIR) Fund was held at the Auditorium, Singapore Polytechnic on Friday, 27 April 2012. Supported by the National Council of Social Services (NCSS), the SIR Forum 2012 showcased 19 of the research projects related to healthcare, special needs, the elderly, and the environment, undertaken by staff and students from the Institute of Technical Education, Nanyang, Ngee Ann, Republic, Singapore and Temasek Polytechnics. Presentations were made by representatives from each polytechnic and the ITE. Various voluntary welfare organizations under NCSS were also present to share real-life challenges faced by the social service community. The SIR Fund provided seed funding for R&D projects that bring social and environmental benefits, and enables these institutions to devise creative and feasible solutions for deployment. The keynote speaker for the Forum was Mr Willie Cheng, Member, Lien Centre for Social Innovation and Chariman, TOTE Board SIR Fund Selection Panel.

Temasek Polytechnic Open House 2014, day 3

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) Open House 2014 was held between Jan 9 to Jan 11 2014. The annual open house was held to enable secondary school students to make an informed choice regarding their educational path after they have completed their studies. The secondary school students were given the opportunity to meet up with the lecturers from the respective schools, have a chat with them on the diploma courses offered, tour the campus and meet up with Temasek Polytechnic students to find out more about the outstanding facilities, the different options open to them and life in the campus.

Description: The 19th Beyond 'O' Level (BOL) Seminar was a must-visit event that catered exclusively to the needs of parents and students awaiting the O level results. Organised by the Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and held in conjunction with TP's Open House, the aim of the informative seminar was to address the many questions parents and students had regarding polytechnic education. A panel of experts was present to share with the students and parents the many opportunities an education at TP could provide. The seminar was held on Saturday, 11 January 2014.

Freshmen Orientation Camp 2013

Description: The annual Freshmen Orientation Camp (FOC) is a 3-day, 2-night residential orientation programme, including staying over on campus. It was organised by the Temasek Polytechnic Students' Union (TPSU) for full-time students. The freshmen participated in a series of programmes to orientate themselves to the new school environment, including many opportunities to make new friends and bond with their peers through fun and exciting games.

The many faces of Singapore: Singapore tourism competition for schools 2001

Description: The "Many Faces of Singapore" competition, opened to all secondary schools, was held to expore ways to promote Singapore as an ideal tourist destination. It was organised by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Singapore Chapter together with the Temasek Business School. Student teams were required to submit a 2,000 word report on their ideas to promote Singapore as a tourist destination. On 25 May 2001, the shortlisted teams set up exhibition booths in Temasek Polytechnic to present their ideas in a multi-sensory environment.

TPRAWKS 2016, day 2

Description: From 21 to 23 November 2016, a non-residential camp spanning three days was organized for secondary school students, particularly those preparing for their O-level exams. The objective of the camp was to offer these students a first-hand experience of TP's way of life. Accompanied by lecturers from various academic schools, the students received explanations about the various diploma courses available, and they had the opportunity to actively participate in practical polytechnic education. Throughout the camp, a range of activities were conducted, including sing-along sessions, quizzes, games, and sports, with an emphasis on water sports like canoeing in Bedok Reservoir. The camp's pinnacle event, "Jam and Hop," served as the grand finale.

Young leaders series 2012

Description: Temasek Polytechnic hosted the Young leaders series on 31 October to 1 November 2012 for students from different secondary schools. Organised by the Corporate Communications Department, this series of events invited outstanding students with good academic and CCA records to come to TP and get a taste of some of the opportunities they would be able to enjoy as TP scholars and student leaders. This outreach programme, which imparted essential life skills while showcasing the benefits of a TP education was conducted by the Centre for Character & Leadership Education and the Entrepreneurship Centre. Besides students learning about building self-confidence, the series of indoor and outdoor programmes enabled the students not only to focus on achieving strong leadership and teamwork skills, but also looked to the needs of the team members and developed their potential. The theme for this Young leaders series was "Discover the person you want to be".

Campus Care Network Day 1996

Road safety campaign exhibition

Description: The Temasek Polytechnic Library organised a road safety campaign exhibition in conjunction with the Road Safety Unit, Traffic Police. The exhibition entitled "We want you alive" was held at the TP Plaza area outside the Library. The objective was to create awareness of the danger of speed driving and the consequences of road traffic accidents.

Freshmen Orientation Camp 2012

Description: The annual Freshmen Orientation Camp (FOC) is a non-compulsory orientation programme organised by the Temasek Polytechnic Students' Union (TPSU) for full-time students. Freshmen may choose between a 3-day non-residential camp or a 3-day, 2-night residential camp. The orientation camp was held over two weeks, from 9 - 20 Apr, with varying dates and duration across the Schools. The activities planned during the 2-week orientation, including the Week-Zero camp, allowed students to familiarise themselves with their School environment and provided ample opportunities to make new friends, network among peers, and experience the vibrant TP campus life.

Some of the activities provided during the 3-day open house included a fashion show, performances by TP students (a roller skating routine, yo-yo performance, concert with live band and TP's own DivoDiva with a medley of songs, students doing TP's signature "Chicky dance", and percussion music), music by popular local band the Goodfellas and live broadcast from the Plaza with DJ Charmaine Yee from Radio 91.3FM.
