The objective was to allow these students to experience TP's way of life. Lecturers from the different academic schools were present to explain the types of diploma courses available, and under their expert guidance, students had a taste of hands-on poly education. Some of the activities held during the 3-day camp included sing along sessions, quizzes and games, sports especially water sports like canoeing in Bedok Reservoir, an opportunity to be a performer in the Black Box Theatre, and the grand finale, "Jam and hop".

The objective was to allow these students to experience TP's way of life. Lecturers from the different academic schools were present to explain the types of diploma courses available, and under their expert guidance, students had a taste of hands-on poly education. Participants also have the opportunity to interact with the five Singapore Idol finalists such as Charles "Stitch" Wong, Faizal Isa, Sylvia Ratonel, Sezairi Sezali and Tabitha Nauser. Some of the activities held during the 3-day camp included a series of workshops, games, sports like dragon boating, and the grand finale, "Jam and hop".

Description: A 3-day non residential camp for secondary school students, especially for those taking their O-level exams in 2013. It was held on 18 to 20 November 2013. The objective was to allow these students to experience TP's way of life. Students were divided into 6 different groups (poprawk, glamrawk, grungerawk, fusionrawk, britrawk, punkrawk) and were taken on a tour of the 6 different schools in TP. Lecturers were on hand to explain the types of diploma courses available, and under their expert guidance, students had a sneak peek into the courses that were of interest to them. One of the camp highlights was being entertained by celebrities, comprising Singapore's favourite contractor, Phua Chu Kang aka Gurmit Singh, and the cast of MediaCorp's Mata Mata (George Young, Paul Foster, Adam Chen and Nadiah M Din) and taking part in an impromptu chapteh session. For the first time, the mass selfie took place when TPTV hosts Jay and Guru prompted the entire audience together with the celebrities to whip out their phones and take pictures of themselves as a way to show the bond and friendship made during the 3-day camp. Other activities held over the 3 days included sing along sessions, mass dancing, quizzes and games, and water sports at the Bedok Reservoir. The grand finale was the "Jam and Hop" hosted by DJ Kzee and with live performance by the Goodfellas. Present at the grand finale was Mr Brendan Wong, TP's Director of Corporate Communications Dept.

Study rooms for "O" and "A" level students

Description: Temasek Polytechnic opened four classrooms to students studying for their "O" and "A" level examinations. The classrooms were located at Block 25 of Temasek Engineering School and opened daily from 9am to 10pm except on Sundays. Some lecturers even dropped by to help students with their revision. Description: Temasek Tech2000 Games held on 15 September 2000 was organised by Temasek Engineering School as part of the national Techmonth 2000 and TP's 10th Anniversary celebration. Description: The Parents as Partners in Career Planning Seminar was held on 4 October 1997. The seminar aimed to help potential applicants make informed choices for their future. Close to 1,000 parents and their teenager children attended the seminar to seek information concerning choice of courses and career prospects. Guest of Honour, Mr Charles Chong, MP for Pasir Ris GRC, gave a keynote address on "Parents' Role In Career Planning. Other speakers at the seminar included Mr Goh Ah Bee, Managing Director, Leica Instruments (S) Pte Ltd, who gave insights into the"Rising Profile of Polytechnic Education and Career Opportunities", and Mr Ang Keng Loo, Deputy Principal of Temasek Polytechnic, who spoke on "TP - Your Partner in Career Planning".

Temasek Engineering School's TechGames workshops 2001

Description: Temasek Engineering School's TechGames workshops for secondary school students was held on 15 September 2001. The workshops were held in conjunction with Science.01, a month-long national event celebrating Science, Technology and Biomedicine in Singapore. Highlight of the workshop was the introduction of Sony Aibo, the popular robotic dog. Other workshops organised included an introduction to the Global Positioning System (GPS), a Solar Insect Design competition, an Intelligent Building Design module and Creative Physics.

Description: The Temasek Polytechnic Library organised a book selection fair with the tag line "You choose, we buy" on 28 October 2010. It was held at the Podium area, Level 3 by the book vendor UBS Library Services. The fair was targetted at staff and students from the Schools of Applied Science and Engineering. The aim was to reach out and encourage them to participate in developing the library collections. The books available for selection covered a wide range of subjects related to engineering and applied sciences. By the end of the event, more than 250 books were selected.

TP Buddy Day

Description: About 200 students from 35 secondary schools got a taste of poly life during the Buddy Day at Temasek Polytechnic held on 28 January 1999. The annual event was organised by the institution's Polytechnic Outreach Centre. The students were paired up with TP buddy who accompanied them to lectures, tutorials, lab sessions and facilities around campus. Lecturers were also on hand at the workshops to introduce them to the equipment and to answer any questions that they may have.

The objective was to allow these students to experience TP's way of life. Lecturers from the different academic schools were present to explain the types of diploma courses available, and under their expert guidance, students had a taste of hands-on poly education. Some of the activities held during the 3-day camp included sing along sessions, team building games, solving puzzles and challenges and manoeuvering through various obstacles course like having their legs tied together with those of another student and navigating through spider webs, under tables and bamboo poles, mass dancing held at the sports hall, and sports especially water sports like dragon boating and canoeing in Bedok Reservoir. The grand finale, "Jam and hop" had students grooving to the music of DJ Andrew T and performances by local bands Sleeq and The Good Fellas.

Description: For the first time, some 1,500 students from 82 secondary schools were given the opportunity to experience life as a student in Temasek Polytechnic (TP), first hand. TPRAWKS is a new initiative by Temasek Polytechnic and was held from Nov 29 to Dec 1 2006. The five schools in TP - Applied Science, Information Technology, Business, Design and Engineering planned three days of fun and informative activities for the participants. These students were taken on tours of each school and learnt more about the courses from the lecturers who were on hand to explain the types of diploma courses available, and under their expert guidance, students had a sneak peek into the courses that were of interest to them. Besides the cultural performance by TP Salvo drum group, TPRAWKS 2006 also served up a delightful treat in the form of an exclusive performance by Singapore Idol and TP alumnus Hady Mirza at the Temasek Convention Centre.

Journey of the Youth Olympic flame : community celebration at Temasek Polytechnic

Description: The Youth Olympic flame started its journey through the heartlands of Singapore on a seven day torch relay from 7 to 14 August 2010. On 10 August 2010, Temasek Polytechnic was privileged to play host to this very special event - the arrival of the Youth Olympic flame on the third day of the torch relay which had made its way across the North East district throughout the day. Temasek Polytechnic graduate Foo Xiu Quan, had the honour of carrying the torch across Bedok Reservoir on a dragon boat. A 20-member crew from TP ensured a smooth ride for the symbol of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Singapore was hosting. Flanked by guest of honour, Mr George Yeo, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Mr Boo Kheng Hua, Principal & CEO, TP's Evangelin Tan brought the Olympic flame into the campus, and Mr Yeo lit the cauldron with the Youth Olympic flame at the Triangular Garden. Performances by Monsters, a Taiwanese cheerleading team, Derrick Hoh from the reality singing contest "Project Superstar", TP Vox, Riley in the Morning and TP's Dance Ensemble made it an enjoyable and memorable night for all. To end the night, students sang the YOG theme song, "Everyone". Also participating in the Community Celebration @ TP to welcome the arrival of the YOG flame at the Triangular Garden were Mr Teo Ser Luck, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Community, Youth & Sports, Mr Ng Ser Miang, Chairman of Singapore 2010 Organising Committee and Mr Seah Moon Ming, Chairman of TP's Board of Governors.
