Description: To meet the rapid expansion of the early childhood education sector and increased demand for trained preschool teachers in Singapore, Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP) increased the intake places for their full-time early childhood education diploma courses, from a combined total of 380 to 675 places, in the new Academic Year starting April 2016. This represented a 77 per cent increase in total intake places. Starting from January 2016, the Diploma in Early Childhood Studies (ECS) students at Temasek Polytechnic (TP) could enhance their learning experience with TP's newly-enhanced laboratory preschool called PLAY (Preshool Learning Academy). PLAY was set up in January 2011 to provide TP's ECS diploma students with opportunities for demonstration, observation, modelling, and hands-on practice.

Description: More than 70 first-year students from Temasek Polytechnic (TP) School of Design Digital Film & Television course had the invaluable opportunity of working alongside Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM), Mr Goh Chok Tong, to produce a series of short films in celebration of 40 years of Marine Parade memories. The result, produced in a mere four months, was a collection of stories that brought to life the colourful memories of the people who grew up in Marine Parade - the MParaders. These stories of love, pain, friendship, camaraderie, second-chances and perseverance also showcased the many different aspects of Singapore's history, beautiful architecture, multi-ethnicity and kampong spirit, which would resonate with many Singaporeans. An under-the-stars picnic premiere of "Our stories, our home: 40 years of Marine Parade" was held on Saturday, 12 March 2016 at 7.45pm at Block 50A Marine Terrace with Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong as the guest-of-honour. Prizes were awarded for best film, direction, cinematography, script and editing. Generous funding for the partnership came from the Lee Foundation and Marine Parade CCC.

Description: The five local polytechnics, namely Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic, and Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to deepen collaboration between educators and the FinTech industry. This MOU supported the PolyFinTech 100 initiative, launched in October 2016 to develop a strong talent pool trained in financial technology to aid Singapore in becoming a smart financial centre. The MOU underscored SFA's commitment to enhance the FinTech eco-system through active and continuous engagement of polytechnic students. Plans for 2017 included the innovation lab crawls, internships and workshops. SFA's President Mr Chia Hock Lai and Mr Clarence Ti, Principal of Ngee Ann Polytechnic shared their comments on the collaboration.

Description: In conjunction with its 25th anniversary celebrations, Temasek Polytechnic (TP) organised a 3-day International Conference on Learning and Teaching. It was held from 29 Sep to 1 Oct 2015 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Professor Dylan Wiliam, Emeritus Professor of Educational Assessment, from the Institute of Education, University of London delivered the 1st and 3rd keynote addresses titled "How do we prepare our students for a world we cannot possibly imagine?" and "Principles of curriculum design". Professor Dai Hounsell, Professor of Higher Education & Vice-Principal for Academic Enhancement, Moray House School of Education, University of Edinburgh, Scotland delivered the 2nd keynote address titled "Trying something new : rethinking teaching, advancing learning". Ms Sim Ann, Minister of State, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Communications & Information was the guest-of-honour at the opening of the 3-day conference.

He succeeded Mr Boo Kheng Hua who retired as TP's Principal & CEO on the same date. Chairman of Temasek Polytechnic's Board of Governors, Mr Lee Kok Choy thanked Mr Boo for his leadership and dedication in driving the institution to even higher levels of excellence.

Description: Temasek Foundation brought together Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and NTUCs Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) to develop a two-week course called RNA Virus Molecular-based Testing-Training to support the demand for more specialised laboratory technicians. The course curriculum was developed by staff from TPs School of Applied Science, and will train participants to do COVID-19 testing via blended learning and hands-on practical sessions. Lessons will cover basic knowledge and skills needed to work in a molecular diagnostic laboratory for virus detection. The training involves the use of automated commercial diagnostic equipment, contributed by Temasek Foundation.

Description: Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, Second Minister for the Ministry of Education, officiated at the opening session of Temasek Polytechnic's Graduation Ceremony on Monday, 3 May 2021 at the Temasek Convention Centre. A total of 6,203 students graduated from 47 full-time diploma courses and 42 part-time courses. The graduation ceremonies spanned over 35 sessions from 3 to 11 May 2021. The sessions were also livestreamed so that family and friends could be part of the celebration. Dr Maliki presented the polytechnic-level awards to the top graduates and also addressed the graduates from the full-time Diplomas in Big Data Management & Governance, Cyber & Digital Security and Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics at the opening session. Mr Lee Kok Choy, Chairman, TP’s Board of Governors, presented the Skills Mastery Award which recognised students who have demonstrated strong mastery of course-specific skills through their achievements in competitions. A total of 13 Skills Mastery Awards were given out this year.

Description: For the second time, Temasek Polytechnic has been awarded the prestigious Electrolux Culinary Institution of the Year award at the recent World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence 2012 held on 24 March. The award recognised culinary institutions that offered courses for nurturing culinary talents, and had been consistent in delivering and promoting high standards in the culinary field. The World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence was regarded as the foremost national accolade in the industry. Description: With the telecom boom and healthy growth in the smartphone market in 2011, many graduating students from Temasek Polytechnic's Diploma of Business IT chose to design and develop applications for the mobile platform. Highlights of the show were "MP14: Pinyin Island iPhone Game" targeted at audience of kids aged 5-12 to make learning Mandarin fun, "MP15: My Heartland Singapore Web Portal" developed for Crystal Horizon Pte Ltd. and aimed to promote awareness of events in heartland malls, "MP17: World Gourmet Summit iPhone App" an iPhone app for Peter Knipp Holding's World Gourmet Summit and "MP19: LifeAtEvent Android App" a mobile app that allowed users to share attractions through photos, and which was one of the recipients of the prestigious 2011 Explorer Grant award. The Course Manager, Benedict Fernandez shared that students were free to choose what they want to work on and who they work with. Among the graduating students who participated in the projects were Darren Teo Wei Jie and Alvin Hoe. MeetingYoungMinds@BIT 2012 was held on 23 February 2012.
