Lee Kong Chian Award for All-Round Excellence 2013

Description: The Lee Kong Chian Award for All-Round Excellence gives commendation and recognition to students who excel in both their studies and co-curricular activities. It is named after the prominent businessman and philanthropist, Lee Kong Chian, who set up the Lee Foundation in 1952 to aid the advancement of education and help the poor, among others. The Lee Foundation has sponsored the Lee Kong Chian Award for All-Round Excellence in honour of Mr Lee’s generous contributions to education and society. The award recipients in 2013 were: Kho Kian Hao (School of Humanities & Social Sciences) and Thng Boon Seong (School of Engineering).

Description: Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Minister of State for National Development and Manpower officiated the first session of Temasek Polytechnic's 22nd Graduation Ceremony on Monday, 21 May 2012 at 9.00am at the Temasek Convention Centre. For the 2012 Graduation Ceremony, the first cohort of graduands from the diplomas in Pharmaceutical Science, Gerontological Management Studies, Clean Energy, Aerospace Electronics and Aerospace Engineering received their diplomas. For the first time, TP presented two new top awards -- the Lee Kong Chian Award and the Lee Kong Chian Award for All-Round Excellence.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic presented the recipients of the five top poly awards to the media in the "Presentation of top graduates' event on Monday, 14 May 2012. For the first time, two new top awards were presented at its Graduation ceremony -- the Lee Kong Chian Award and the Lee Kong Chian Award for All-Round Excellence in addition to the Lee Kuan Yew Award, the Tay Eng Soon Gold Medal Award and the CapitaLand Award for All-Round Excellence. Description: The Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics and Science for polytechnics is awarded to the top technology or computer science graduates in each of the polytechnics. This Award is funded by an honorarium that the late founding Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew received from various speaking engagements and funds raised from a special edition of his memoirs. The Award was first presented at the 1993 Temasek Polytechnic graduation ceremony. The award recipients in 2012 were: Ang Yan Ee (School of Applied Science), Koh Ming Rong Dominic (School of Engineering) and Teh Kaiwen (School of Informatics & IT).
