Career Carnival at Youth Park

Description: Temasek Polytechnic organised the first Career Carnival at the Youth Park on Sommerset Road on 13 and 14 February 1999. Visitors were not only able to obtain information on the 27 full-time courses, they were also shown glimpses of the vibrant campus life. Youths and parents were also invited to participate in the TP Live chat sessions where they could log on and chat with experts on education opportunities after the 'O' Level Examinations and the "The Spirit of Adventure and Aspirations of Youths". The Guest-of-Honour was Members of Parliament, Mr S Iswaran.

City colours : paint the town red and white

Description: Temasek Polytechnic's Design School Studies Club participated in City Colours : paint the town red and white. The project was organised by the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) as part of the National Day celebration, Majulah! The Singapore Spirit. The project aimed to engage students from local tertiary institutions by providing them the experience of dressing up a plot of land to express their creativity, love and pride in Singapore's birthday. The installations were put up by students from 15 to 16 July 2011, and on display till 31 August 2011 at Raffles Place Park and Hill Street. This was the second year that TP participated in the event.

Clay sculpturing workshop

Description: More than 20 teachers from 14 secondary schools attended a free half-day clay sculpturing workshop at Temasek Polytechnic on 16 April 2013. The workshop was organised by Corporate Communications Department in partnership with School of Design. Though the participants had little or no art experience, the creative session specially tailored for beginners gave them a chance to explore art tools and clay techniques to produce simple handmade pieces. Mr Jeffrey Ang Choon Seng & Mr Justin Lee Chen-Chung from School of Design Foundation Studies conducted the workshop. The event was part of a series of Teachers' workshops, TP's way of offering education and enrichment opportunities to secondary schools, and promoting knowledge sharing and networking.

Collection of notebooks which were on loan to freshmen during the circuit breaker

Description: Freshmen collected their notebooks at the Temasek Aviation Academy (TAA) and the AI &Analytics Hub in April 2020. The notebooks were loaned out to freshmen who were waiting to purchase or collect their notebooks and also for those who were waiting for financial assistance to get them. The notebooks were loan to them as an interim measure as the campus was closed during the circuit breaker and they could not used the computers in the library or school labs.

Diploma in Leisure and Resort Management 10th anniversary

Description: The Diploma in Leisure and Resort Management (LRM) celebrated its' 10th anniversary on 12 May 2017. 130 alumni attended the event held at Temasek Tourism Academy (TTA) event hall. The event was filled with nostalgic videos, stories, songs and entertainment.

Float competition

Description: School of Engineering organised a float competition as part of the Freshmen Orientation 1998. Freshmen were given 2 days to design and fabricate their floats based on the themes, "Singapore My Home" or "Technology 2000". They were given only a one-metre wooden pole and a ball of raffia string to start with. Students demonstrated their resourcefulness and creativity by using mainly recycled materials or discarded items to build their floats.

Free kick @ TP

Description: The legendary soccer star Pele, who won the World Cup three times with Brazil (in 1958, 1962 and 1970) visited Temasek Polytechnic on 28 November 2006. He was welcomed by thousands of staff, students, and local soccer fans at the Temasek Polytechnic sport complex. Pele, whose real name is Edson Arantes do Nascimento, signed autographs, hugged his fans, posed for photos, and also witnessed a friendly soccer match between Singapore national under-18 squad, and the Temasek Polytechnic soccer team. Other guests at the event were Mr Teo Ser Luck, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports (MCYS), and Mayor Zainudin Nordin of Central Singapore CDC. Mayor Zainudin Nordin is also the FAS Vice-President.

Freshmen Orientation 1990

Description: The annual Freshmen Orientation Camp (FOC) is a non-compulsory orientation programme organised by the Temasek Polytechnic Students' Union (TPSU) for full-time students. Freshmen may choose between a 3-day non-residential camp or a 3-day, 2-night residential camp. The orientation camp was held over two weeks, from 9 - 20 Apr, with varying dates and duration across the Schools. The activities planned during the 2-week orientation, including the Week-Zero camp, allowed students to familiarise themselves with their School environment and provided ample opportunities to make new friends, network among peers, and experience the vibrant TP campus life.

Freshmen Orientation Grand Finale 2000

Description: The highlight of TP's Week Zero Orientation Camp 2000 was the traditional "Final Clash", which would see students from the four Schools competing against each other in the telematch and cheerleading competition. Temasek Engineering School emerged as the winner for this year. Over 4000 freshmen sold cute little teddy bears by Sasha Bear Company at various locations around Singapore to raise funds for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), National Kidney Foundation's Children's Kidney Transplant Centre, and TP's Campus Care Network. BG George Yeo, Minister for Trade and Industry, was the Guest-of-Honour for the orientation finale held at the Triangular Garden on 30 June 2000. Five confetti canons were fired, and two students abseiled down from the sixth-storey corridor accompanied by fireworks to welcome him.

Freshmen Orientation Programme 2023

Description: After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the Freshmen Orientation Programme (FOP) activities returned in full physical form in April 2023. Organized by the Student Development & Alumni Affairs (SDAA), the FOP plays a crucial role in helping freshmen to adapt to the new school environment through various activities and programmes. Global Community Day 2011

Description: For the first time, Temasek Polytechnic held its Global Community Day (GCD) outside the campus. It partnered National Parks Board (Nparks) to stage the event, in conjunction with the Parks Festival at the Bedok Reservoir. The highlight of the celebrations was the staging of the first ever Lighting of WaterFire in Asia. The first fire was lit by guest-of-honour, Mr Chan Chun Sing, Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence. Various activities were held during the two-day event which celebrated diversity and promoted inter-cultural understanding. There were participation from embassies of various countries, cultural dances and performances, photo sessions and games for the public, TP students and staff.

Global Community Day 2018

Description: Global Community Day (GCD) 2018 was held on 6 July 2018. Mr. Lee Kok Choy, Chairman, Board of Governors Temasek Polytechnic (TP) was the guest-of-honour at the event. "sAme SamE And differeNt"" was a line that perfectly encapsulated the similarities and yet unique differences amongst the ASEAN nations, which was also why it made an ideal theme for TP's signature Global Community Day 2018. The event commemorated Singapore's ASEAN Chairmanship during this review year and saw an estimated 1,000 participants from the five polytechnics, secondary schools, ASEAN nations, embassies and industries enjoying and participating in the vibrant festivities.

Graduation ceremony 2014, day 1

Description: The Temasek Polytechnic graduation ceremony spanned over 14 sessions from 26 to 30 May 2014. Guest of honour, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Communications and Information, officiated at the opening session held on Monday, 26 May 2014 at 9.00am at the Temasek Convention Centre. Graduation ceremony 1991

Description: On 30 July 1991, the Polytechnic held its' first Graduation Ceremony at the Singapore Labour Foundation (SLR) Auditorium. 89 graduates from the Design Course (Interior Architecture Design, Graphic Design and Product Design) trooped upstage to receive their diplomas in their resplendent gowns. The Guest-of-Honour for the occassion was the Senior Minister of State for Education, Dr Tay Eng Soon.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic's third Graduation Ceremony was held at the World Trade Centre Harbour Pavilion on 19th August 1993 for 588 full-time students from the Schools of Business, Design and Information Technology and Applied Science and 84 part-time students from the Management Diplomas in Accounting and Finance, and Sales and Marketing and the Certificate in Library and Information Studies courses. The ceremony officiated by Minister for Education, Mr. Lee Yock Suan, was in essence the graduation of the Polytechnic's first cohort since these graduates had enrolled as first-year students when it was established in 1990.
