Description: A joint partnership between Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and Temasek Foundation (TF) on a four year nutrition intervention programme in Cambodia. The programme is funded by TF with a grant of about S$223,000 and involved the staff and students of TP's School of Applied Science in imparting knowledge in the areas of nutrition, food hygiene and safety practices to 150 programme participants. Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 24 July 2012 with the Institute of Public Relations Singapore (IPRS) to launch the 1st PR student chapter at TP's School of Business. The chapter was the first of its kind in Singapore between a Polytechnic and the PR industry to foster greater awareness of public relations. With this initiative, TP students in the Diploma in Communications and Media Management (CMM), Diploma in Business (BUS) and Diploma in Marketing (MKG) could leverage on the many networking and mentorship programmes offered by IPRS. Description: The October intake of Temasek Polytechnic's School of Engineering showcased 30 final-year projects at the Engineering Project Show on 25 July 2013. Among the projects showcased were Aqua saver shower system -- a finalist in the Cool Ideas for Better HDB Living competition, this shower system automatically diverted water to a holding tank if its temperature was outside a pre-specified range, thereby saving water; Contactless charger -- a prototype of a contactless charger for mobile phones, laptops and other mobile devices; and Easy gripper -- this Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors' Award nominee for 2014 was a device which helped the elderly or those with weak fingers or sweaty palms to pull out an AC plug from its socket effortlessly and safely.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic, in collaboration with A*STAR's Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), Microsoft and MediaTek, organised an "Internet of Things (IoT) Hackathon" to focus on preparing future working adults in the growth area of IoT. The Hackathon took place at Temasek Polytechnic's School of Informatics & IT on 26 & 27 November 2015. Approximately 50 TP students participated in this event to develop prototype IoT solutions within two days, using the Microsoft Azure IoT Open Source Platform, MediaTek LinkIt One platform, together with Engineering System expertise provided by I2R. Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and the Criminal Investigation Department's (CID) Technology Crime Forensic Branch of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 24 Oct 2012. This partnership facilitated the sharing of knowledge and skills in digital forensics and investigations between the CID and TP, enabling them to build a better understanding and an appreciation of the operational requirements, encountered in actual crime investigations. Description: Temasek Polytechnic's's Engineering Project Show was held on 26 July 2012 at Temasek Convention Centre. Among the 25 projects on display were "Self-inflating tyre", "Gen-Y power socket" & "Gen-Y" power plug, "Car seat aid" and "EZ paraplegic walker". The two mechatronic students behind the Self-inflating tyre which used a system that pumped up the tyres as one rode the bicycle received a Merit award at the Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors' Award.

The theme for 2017 was "Rethink retail", with a focus on productivity and innovation. Description: Minister for Education (Higher Education & Skills) and Second Minister for Defence Mr Ong Ye Kung witnessed the signing of Collaboration Agreements between the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP), and between Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP) to offer relevant skills-based undergraduate modules to polytechnic graduates embarking on the SkillsFuture Earn ad Learn Programme (ELP). The Joint-ELP Collaboration Agreements were signed by Professor Tan Thiam Soon, President, SIT, Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, President, SUSS and Mr Peter Lam, Principal & CEO, TP. The signing was also witnessed by Mr Ng Cher Pong, Chief Executive of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). Under the Agreements, ELP participants would be able to take modules alongside existing undergraduates from the relevant degree programmes offered by both universities. Upon completion of the ELP, they could apply to enrol in the corresponding degree programmes at SUSS or SIT, with due credit recognition given.

Professor Dai Hounsell, Professor of Higher Education & Vice-Principal for Academic Enhancement, Moray House School of Education, University of Edinburgh, Scotland delivered the 2nd keynote address titled "Trying something new : rethinking teaching, advancing learning". Description: Under the Spring Singapore's Innovation Voucher Scheme (IVS), Temasek Polytechnic's School of Applied Science helped small and medium enterprises (SMES) developed innovative ideas to stay ahead of competition. Temasek Polytechnic (TP) had developed 31 projects which were showcased at TP's School of Applied Science Project Show held on 28 March 2012. Tongkat Ali and Diabetic-friendly cheesecakes were among the projects showcased. Mr Allan Albert Teoh, founder, AllanBakes and Dr Lau Peck Ting, Managing Director, Quintech life Sciences Pte Ltd shared on the benefits of IVS. The IVS had also benefitted the local traditional medicine industry such as H.W. Traditional Medicine, Wen Ken Marketing and Tai Tong Ah Co. During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was inked between Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (NJUCM) and TP. Under the terms of agreement, NJUCM would provide expertise over three years to further strengthen ASc's capability in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLCP) fingerprinting. The event also saw the launch of a book titled "High performance liquid chromatography fingerprinting technology of the commonly-used traditional Chinese medicine herbs".

Description: The official launch of Temasek Polytechnic's 25th anniversary celebrations by Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Mr Goh Chok Tong was held on Wednesday, 29 April 2015 at 10am at Auditorium 1. TP was established in 1990 with five satellite campuses, and became a beautiful 30-hectare campus by the scenic Bedok Reservoir in 1995. The year long celebrations included events like the TP 25 hour challenge in May, an International Conference on Learning & Teaching in October and a home-grown musical "Crunch time" in November. Apart from launching TP's 25th anniversary microsite, ESM Mr Goh was presented with a copy of TP's 25th anniversary commemorative book, "From silver to gold".

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and the University of Western Australia (UWA) celebrated a decade-long partnership of student exchange on 27 February 2015. The exchange programme provided almost 400 students (170 students from TP's Diploma in Communications and Media Management (CMM) and about 200 from UWA students) an opportunity to learn more about Australian education and culture for TP students and for Australian students to understand TP life and Singapore culture. His Excellency, the Australian High Commissioner to Singapore, Mr Philip Green, Professor Krishna Sen, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at UWA, Mr Daniel Yeow, Director, TP's School of Business as well as senior staff and students from both institutions attended the celebration held at Temasek Polytechnic. Sarah Ison of UWA and Jolene Chea of TP were among the many students who had benefitted from the exchange programme.

Description: Menlo Worldwide Logistics (Menlo) and Temasek Polytechnic signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 27 June 2013 to establish a new scholarship programme for students pursuing careers in logistics and supply chain management. Under the programme, Menlo established four annual scholarships of S$2,500 each. These scholarships were awarded to selected students in their third and final year of study pursuing the Diploma in Operations and Logistics Managementat at TP's School of Business. The recipients of Menlo's four scholarships for 2013 were Ong Si Ru Sharon, Lim KeWei Daryl James, Goh Jia Xian and Shen Zhi Kai Darrell.
