Description: The Temasek Polytechnic graduation ceremony spanned over 13 sessions from 21 to 25 May 2012. Guest of honour, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Minister of State for National Development and Manpower, officiated at the opening session held on Monday, 21 May 2012 at 9.00am at the Temasek Convention Centre. A total of 5281 students graduated from 52 full-time diploma courses and six part-time specialist diploma and diploma courses. Day 1: Session 1. Description: On 14 May 2012, 11 top students from the graduating cohort were honoured in a room filled with proud parents, secondary school principals and teachers, in a pre-graduation ceremony as details of the challenges they faced in the pursuit of their dreams were read out. For the first time, two new top awards were presented at the Polytehcnic's graduation ceremony: the Lee Kong Chian Award which is given to top non-Science and Technology graduates from the School of Business, School of Design and School of Humanities & Social Sciences; and the Lee Kong Chian Award for All-Round Excellence which gives commendation and recognition to students who excel in both their studies and co-curricular activities. The awards were presented by Mr Boo Kheng Hua, Principal & CEO. The 2012's top graduands were: Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics & Science: Ang Yan Ee, Koh Ming Rong, Dominic and Teh Kaiwen; Tay Eng Soon Gold Medal: Christina Lee Wei Ting and Lim Wei Zhong; Lee Kong Chian Award: Chiam Yong Sheng, Kevin, Goh Jian En, Zerah and Jennifer Wee Zhen Zhen; CapitaLand Award for All-Round Excellence: Lim Ming Yeow, Keith; Lee Kong Chian Award for All- Round Excellence: Divyashree d/o C. Balakrishnan and Mitchelle Elaine Jauw Shian Fern.
