Description: The Beyond O Level, a Poly/JC/ITE seminar was jointly organised by The New Paper and Temasek Polytechnic on 20 January 1996 and held at Temasek Polytechnic campus. About 700 O Level holders and their parents attended the seminar to find out what the various educational institutions had to offer. The four speakers for the seminar were: Mr Eugene Wijeysingha, former headmaster of Raffles Institution and columnist on educational matters for The New Paper; Mr Moses Wong, registrar of Temasek Polytechnic; Madam Leong Fan Chin, principal of Hwa Chong Junior College; and Dr Law Song Seng, chief executive officer of the Institute of Technical Education. Students speakers from the different institutions also shared their experiences in school. The seminar ended with a question-and-answer session.

Business Experience 2003

Beside video presentation, talk and quiz, Temasek Business School also offered nine different workshops by the various diplomas that participants could attend based on their interest.

Campus Care Network Day 1992

Description: In its second year of operation, the Campus Care Network (CCN) was established in August 1991, with the aim to bring lecturers and students together, to maintain a caring culture, so as to foster students' personal growth. In 1992, CCN organised food fair and jumble sale to raise funds for Temasek Polytechnic students who needed financial help. It was held from 11am to 2pm on 11 August. TP staff set-up mini make-shift stalls for the event, selling varying items, such as, apple and chicken pies, tarts, satay and desserts. Staff and students were also encouraged to donate generously, either for the jumble sale items, food or cash.

Description: The Campus Care Network (CCN) Day is held annually at Temasek Polytechnic, a tradition where staff and students put up a campus-wide bazaar and sale to raise funds for students in need of financial assistance and also to cultivate community spirit and bonding amongst staff and students. This year, the CCN Day was held on 23 August. Stalls were set up at the plaza and along the Schools' concourse areas selling food, such as, home-made Beijing dumplings, second hand clothes and books. The highlight of the day was the Dunkin' Chair. Staff and students put down cash to have their turn at tossing the basketball at the target. TP Principal and CEO, Dr N Varaprasad was the first to be dunked into the dunking pool. Followed by the Deputy Principal, Mr Ang Keng Loo and other senior management staff of TP.

The CCN Day was held on 8 August 2001 in conjunction with National Day celebration. The theme was Caring Youths Celebrating. Stalls were set up at the plaza and along the Schools' concourse areas selling assortment of items such as food like satay, bbq chicken wing, chicken pita, bone steak; costume jewellery and souvenirs. There were also cultural dance and dikir barat performance by TP students for TP's community and guests.

Career Carnival at Youth Park

Description: Temasek Polytechnic organised the first Career Carnival at the Youth Park on Sommerset Road on 13 and 14 February 1999. Visitors were not only able to obtain information on the 27 full-time courses, they were also shown glimpses of the vibrant campus life. Youths and parents were also invited to participate in the TP Live chat sessions where they could log on and chat with experts on education opportunities after the 'O' Level Examinations and the "The Spirit of Adventure and Aspirations of Youths". The Guest-of-Honour was Members of Parliament, Mr S Iswaran.

Float competition

Description: School of Engineering organised a float competition as part of the Freshmen Orientation 1998. Freshmen were given 2 days to design and fabricate their floats based on the themes, "Singapore My Home" or "Technology 2000". They were given only a one-metre wooden pole and a ball of raffia string to start with. Students demonstrated their resourcefulness and creativity by using mainly recycled materials or discarded items to build their floats.

Freshmen Orientation 1990
